Who holds us accountable ?-- God.---- Who, then, fixes our fate ? Many would also answer: “God ??‘That would never happen,’ you say -yet, according to some, that is what God does. If good and bad are from God -and he has written everything on our foreheads, as it were, why would he hold us responsible for doing bad ??

Theland if you believe God exists then all well and good, the bible was written a long long time ago. I now someone who carries a bible where ever he goes, he often reads psalms to me for my wellbeing.

True, its man who is responsible for all the problems on the earth. But have you ever thought why God has allowed it? Because Jeremiah 10 v 23 , latter part says, "It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step". So it shows man's independence from God won't work. But now, with everything that is going on, if the Almighty doesn't do something, there will be no one left on the earth. He has told us what you can expect to happen - he is going to bring to ruin those ruining the earth - Revelation 11 v 18.

goodlife - The lofty assumption by anyone to presume that they know God's will, to commit their thoughts to paper, and for you to quote it in an argument, suggests that both of you are making assumptions with no validity at all.

The Bible is an ancient tome, but age does not automatically confer validity.

I am convinced of the accuracy of the prophecies, which is one reason I became a believer in the first place, and investigated it further.

Well, God gave us free will. If you screw up, that's your own fault. God wants us to be perfect, but doesn't expect us to be. When you screw up, that's on you and your human nature, not God. That's why he has to save you from it, and why you're still held accountable.
