It was a genuine attempt to try to understand my own psyche and the psychological phenomona surrounding suicide.

There were two more threads zapped immediately which I didn't get a chance to read. One was in relation to the suicide thread and the other was headed Hallowe'en. What that one was about I'll never know, but it lasted a matter of seconds.

the one I saw was swiftly sidetracked into moaning about moderators (in effect, so is this one). A discussion that stuck to the subject might last longer ... but I see a mod actually suggested as much and just got more moaning, so I may be wasting my breath here.

According to Catholic Doctrine suicide is still a sin, as is abortion and contraception.

To repeat my response on the original thread - if your faith deems suicide to be a sin, then it is a sin, and if it doesn't, it's not.

Since I have no faith, and therefore no recourse to worry about sin, it's not an issue for me personally.
