very true, Patsy. The Bible deals a lot in analogies and parables (at least Jesus did), and there's been 2000 years of debate about how best to interpret them. As aelmpvw says, it may be that some see the signs perfectly well but read them differently.

(I find this quite good practice for interpreting government messages on Covid.)

Do signs of the times have meaning for us today? Yes, they do! And if you act on the meaning of these signs, in the lives of the people, like in ancient Israel were not merely of historic value.

No but that “these things went on befalling them as examples, and they were written for a warning to us upon whom the ends of the systems of things have arrived.” (1 Corinthians 10:11)

So we today have advance warning of coming events. By taking note of significant modern-day happenings, you will be able to act in a way so as to avoid the calamity.
