fiveleaves, I'm not sure there can be a debate on the possible existence of god. There would first need to be a definition of 'god', and then in my view there would need to be some kind of 'evidence' produced on both sides.
Unfortunately, I don't think there is a universally accepted definition of god or an accepted description of his (!!??!!) qualities. Nor have I ever seen any evidence of god's existence apart from human assertions.
Is it not a big coincidence that god's nature seems to fit exactly with what we wish it to be (either violent and vengeful for those who are themselves v&v; or kind and forgiving for those who are themselves k&f)?
