I am so Pleased to see HRH Prince Andrew (Duke of York) in his rightful
place at the service ~ lovely to see him walk his mother the Queen in.

Perhaps now the media and all the other idiots will get off his back.

RIP Prince Philip.

it seems unlikely

I agree
I haven't watched television this morning but I'm pleased the queen got there.
It is Her Majesty's wish that the Duke of York should be there and for that I am pleased to see him give her his support. What the rest of the world may think about it is not the point.

This service is so very different from last year's funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh and it is not surprising that the Queen walked to her seat.
Andrew walked the queen into the service ?
There were doubts about the queen's limited mobility and whether or not she would be able to attend. I'll watch the highlights later.
Question Author
Yes he walked his Mother into Westminster and then took
his seat beside his brother Prince Edward and his other
siblings and their families.

See BBC ~ service still ongoing.
Oh dear, Hugh, gaffe of the year, how the 'Duke of Windsor' was accompanying her down to Poet's Corner.
Question Author
DTC whatever do you mean ?
He apologised 'live' when the Queen was exiting to go down to Poets Corner and 'home,' for using the term 'the Duke of Windsor' and 'as I should have said, the Dean of Windsor'
And of course it was Huw - as in Huw Edwards...

oops ~~ Get you, a slip of the tongue and finger. lo

It was a nice service, I was pleased to see them all there.

Beautiful day here so I am of out to enjoy it.
Hope you have a pleasant day.
well he's neither the duke or dean of windsor so i'm confused
Question Author
The Dean of Windsor is a minister in the Abbey.

The Duke of Windsor is the long deceased Uncle of the Queen
who abdicated in 1936 and the Queens father then became
King etc etc etc
The Queen probably allowed him to walk her in to show that she still supports him, despite everything.
I'll not watch and am sorry that Andrew will receive even this air small amount of airtime . They should have left him in the shadows towards the back and had Charles or William walk The Queen in.

How dare they parade him as you describe. Grrrr feeling really cross now!
I agree Maydup. I have recorded it to watch later, so I can fast forward that bit.
Maydup, as loathsome as I find Andrew, who are you to tell an old lady which of her sons should walk her to her seat during a thanksgiving service to her late husband?

Andrew is a scumbag, but this should be the Queen's decision alone, and her choice should be respected.
It's not often, if ever, the Queen gets it wrong but I think she has today by thrusting this arrogant repulsive creature in our faces. Just my opinion.
Exactly Ladybirder.
