Lenny Henry, that stalwart champion of 'diversity', says he is “always surprised” by the lack of black and brown people at Glastonbury, as he called for better representation of ethnic minorities in all facets of British society.

Are they prevented from buying tickets - or is it that they just don't fancy living for several days in a tent in a muddy field?

Much like Diane Abbott (who is a racist), David Lammy and a few others, Lenny Henry sees racism in pretty much everything, but to crowbar a racist slant into black people choosing not to attend Glastonbury is absurd.

I don’t like Mr Henry at all and often wonder how he wore the mantra of being a comedian
Does he go?

Neither do I, bobbi. If you want to see what racism looks like, look no further than Lenny Henry.

No idea, LB, but he seems to know all about the people who go there.
i don't fancy it either but i'm white . . .
Imagine if a white person did this.

Perhaps it's seen as a cold house for people of colour. And then there's the costs. It's not cheap as far as I know.

Blatant racists and they get away with it !
It's because these festivals mainly take place in rural areas where racism was rife years ago in the days when these festivals started and as a consequence non-white folk were treated like s h i t by the locals. Such prejudicial hosting takes a long time to fade from memory.
Lol^
Perhaps it's because many black and Asian people don't relate to western culture. Why should they? (Unless they live here, of course).
Canary42s answer is close to the mark.
How many 'Black Boy' pubs are dotted around the countryside?
They are name after Charles the second whos nickname was the black boy due to his swarthy complexion.

\\Black Boy
Now a rather controversial pub name, records of ‘Black Boy’ inns go back at least 250 years. There are four potential origins of the name – and no-one’s really sure which is the real explanation! The pub could be named after:

a character with skin darkened by their work, like chimney sweeps or miners covered in soot or coal-dust.
King Charles II, who was nicknamed ‘Black Boy’ by his mother, Henrietta Maria of France because of his dark hair and complexion. The name was adopted by Charles’ supporters fighting for the restoration of the Monarchy in the 1650s. Inns using the Black Boy name were possibly declaring their royalist allegiance against Oliver Cromwell’s parliamentarians.
The least watertight etymology is that they’re named after local dark-coloured shipping signals, the name being a misspelling of Black Buoy.//
the black boy hungarton one of my locals . . .
They's at the all night Drill Party in Brixton, innit.
+ They got more sense than to stump up £350 to watch Sid Rumpole in a muddy field.
Canary and Sandy sorry but your views are way off the mark unless you think it's sill 1960. I dont know a single Black Boy pub in my area of South West England and non whites are not treated like ***. I think Spungle is more likely to have highlighted the main reason, they are not into that western culture plus taking part in what is a very middle class pastime.
Messed that up. Rambling Syd Rumpo.
Glastonbury is in the countryside, a I've lived in the countryside in various places most of my life, & my experience has been, that black & Asian folk are never seen either walking, cycling, camping, fishing, canoeing or any other activity associated with it.
