Is The Universe Itself 'God'
24 Answers
Science itself tell us that that matter (electrons, protons etc, that make up atoms, that make up matter) can neither be destroyed or created.
Therefore matter itself is eternal.
ergo, matter itself is eternal.
A manifestation of god right?
And the big-bang doesnt tell us how life started.
It simply tells us how THIS life started.
Just a follow on from a conversation with a friend,....

The universe and all the laws there of, of physics etc are in a sense omnipotent so yes maybe, so yes maybe the universe is itself "god". I don't subscribe to that but it makes mores sense than all the other partisan definitions.
Matter itself is destroyed when it is turned back to energy. Just about everything has a half life anyway.
Is the universe God ? Maybe. If "in the beginning" there was only God, then what would God create the universe from, except itself ?
Yeah, maybe the BB was just a matter creation in this local area. We've no ideal what exists beyond the visible universe.
Maybe there be dragons !

Not necessarily in that order...
I will still stuck to the idea that primitive people create God(s) to explain the stuff their scientific development can't explain, I doubt a few thousand years from now, if humankind survives many will still hold what will then seem outrageously stupid ideas of deity.

Well a collider does it all the time, at near light speed ;-)
But the question is reasonable as theoretically one should be able to turn matter totally into energy: but a practical method isn't something of which I know.
However the half life of a proton is estimated to be about 10³² years, so maybe just wait around for a bit ?
Ultimately according to quantum theory, ain't all atomic particles just bips in the probability field ? Maybe just send in the relevant anti particles (anti bips) and watch the probability flatten to zero.

“You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.” Max Ehrmann
Some find comfort in considering themselves children of the universe, yet there is a grand plan that is so much bigger. The one true God, the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is infinite in wisdom and goodness, wanted a family. The reason for man is so God can have a family, and the purpose for the heavens and earth is so man can have a home to live in.
Acts 17
24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
31 ...whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

God could have created a universe with different fundamental laws
naomi24^Or not at all …
nope
god ( pun intended) I wish people would read about this a bit
g ( gee, gracity that one gravity) can't be greater than 10 say or less than 9 ( metres per sec per sec) or else the universe implodes or goes weee ! into space.
so no - or yes there is a narrow set of values that allow us to exist.
and.... or no rules
that is the subject of reverse mathematics - to wit what rules do we need as a minimum to run things ?
what was the question ?
Is god the universe?
no the universe is changing - black holes etc
and...
God is immutable
( if he werent then there wd be a state better than God, ergo....)
but we all really knew that didnt we?
