The Perils Of Privatisation - Part X
News4 mins ago
My wife had a four night coach trip to France. She was bitten by a brown recluse spider, very nasty. Can take two to three months to heal. Antibiotics etc, very painful. She also acquired Covid-19 that she has now given me. All in all a very unfortunate holiday.
Oh dear! Poor her! I hope all is well before too long.
I admit that - before I went to live in France - I had no idea at all of the nature nasties that lurked there. A visitor bitten by an 'aspic' (small adder) and my resultant 12 hrs taking him to A&E for anti-venom (shipped up from the centre in Bordeaux) disillusioned me fairly quickly.
Then there were the scorpions, v. nasty ants, killer hornets, and sundry others - a particularly virulently coloured black/yellow shiny salamandar on my doorstep which required removal whilst wearing rubber gloves to avoid its poisonous skin, sticks in the mind. Then there were the aoutas and other insects......
At least your wife escaped them david small. Best wishes to her for a full recovery.
