I know it's the 4 largest (J, S,U,N) planets but didn't know they are called gas giants. I can only assume the chaser mis heard the question as I agree it's a daft answer. But we all make mistakes, sometimes funny/silly ones, and in the main I think the Chasers know more than you or I do.

I would probably have guessed asteroids because there are so many of them, and only two gas giants and gas is lighter than solid stuff.

My research shows that I would have been wrong. (No, my research did not consist of seeing what TTT thought).

I also wondered about the idea that the universe and thus the stars could be considered as orbiting the sun. It's an odd idea, but I bet no-one here could prove otherwise.

16:24 to think it's stars shows an inconceivable level of ignorance unless we were not a mono star system. Even the rest of the stars in the galxaxy do not orbit our star they orbit the galaxy. It can only be the 4 gas giants.

I would never accuse the chasers of ignorance of the solar system - none of them are ignorant of that.  More likely he wasn't concentrating on the question.

I might have gone for asteroids. Aside from the one between Mars and Jupiter, I don't know how many other asteroids are in the solar system.

I'm sure their concentration can drift away and under pressure they can either select the wrong answer or press the wrong button.

They're not infallible.
