Why is religion treated with reverence? It's something that people choose to do, or not, whichever you prefer. Why do we have to be careful not to upset anyone who believes in fairytales?
I loved Fairy Tale (A true story) as Mel Gibson made an uncredited appearance at the end as the Dad of the girls, and it was so sweet. he sent a text tonight asking what i was up to and when i said I was debating reality with ward-minter he said "cool, say hi to the big guy from me."
People believe in different things, some people choose a religion whereas others may choose to believe a more scientific approach to believing why things are the way they are. Just because you may find scientific facts easier to believe than religion, it doesn't mean that religious approaches are fairytales. It's just a matter of what you find easier to believe.
Everyone is free to choose what they want to believe in. Respecting other peoples views and their right to have those views is a moral code many people share - otherwise the result is bullying, bigotry, discrimination, and often racism, sexism etc.
