Bible reading?

Has anyone in the public at large (excluding clergy etc) actually read the bible fully or do we all rely on the brainwashing excerpts sold to us when were schoolchildren?

Iv'e read every page.Prefer a good detective nowadays though.
Most christians that Iv'e known rely on what theyve been told at church and are totally unaware of the blood and gore contained in its pages

I've read it too - but I much prefer Harry Potter. Far more sensible.

Got a friend who reads the bible from beginning to end every year

There are parts of it that I have not read. Some of proverbs, some psalms, and parts of the major prophets. But I'm getting there slowly.

I've read the Bible many times through, (not in one sitting !), over the years.
Generally I read a chapter a day as part of my own daily readings, and would also work my way more slowly through a particular book once or twice a week for deeper study.

I've always found my Bible reading a source of encouragement and blessing, and that small time spent with God is well worth it.
That, coupled with prayer is the foundation of successful Christian living.

I would like to know the bible as well as some of its critics who post here, who are incredibly knowledgeable.
I know enough of it to have it change my life and beliefs. There's no going back for me.

I have been reading the good book everyday day during Lent and find it very inspirational. Over the course of my life I have probably read the whole book a few times over.

We base our faith on what the Bible says, and not what MEN think.
(2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17) �All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17�that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.�

The CaTHOLIC CHURCH teaches the Trinity doctrine. Has done so for two thousand years, since Constantine. Doesn't make it correct.
The word is not even in the Bible.
Jesus never mentioned a triune God.
Work it out for yourself.
