Were Al Qaeda responsible for the murder of Diana?
Algerian cells were known to be operating in Paris at the time and some actually worked at the Ritz Hotel.
Osama Bin Laden had vowed revenge, after Mohamed Al Fayed had refused to help with funding, for his organisation.
Bin Laden was also aware that Dodi and Diana were about to be married, as it was common knowledge in the Muslim world.
With so much known about the couple's movements, it was then easy for them to carry out their murderous plan and make it look like an accident.

Mmmm .... don't you think they might just have made a point of telling us if they were responsible? What a victory for them that would have been. A real trophy killing.
With respect to the Spencer and Fayed families, I don't think this suggestion is very welcome right now.
Al Fayed himself is suggesting more ludicrous things than this, and causing the whole thing to drag on ten years after the event. I don't think cambus is particularly adding anything to distress that must be causing.
Don't be so silly. They would have told everyone years ago if they had via Al-jazeera.
Each to their own theory, of course.
I have my own conspiracy theory regarding the death of Diana.

It's goes a little something like this - She was being driven at very high speeds (probably at her own request to try & avoid the Paparazzi), wearing no seat belt by a driver who had been drinking heavily & with all the confusion of camera flashes, motor bikes alongside etc they simply crashed.

naomi and CT, Dodi and Diana were not murdered in the name of Allah, but pure and simply for revenge.
Bin Laden would never admit to such cold blooded murder, for fear of alienating the Muslim world.
Hence the accident scenario.
I'm confused cambus. It's impossible to tell at this point who actually thinks this is a serious theory, and who's just going along with the joke.
I agree with Dicko, there was no conspiracy. They were in a crash that was survivable but weren't wearing seatbelts...
cambus.... I think I'm just a little bit in love with you.

Or it could be awe.

Or three glasses of wine.
Hic!
No

Simple answer
It was an accident.
Move on ffs
cambus, can I just ask where you got this from?
I have always thought that it was too convenient for the Royals and the establishment for Diana to have died when she did. But I have not seen anything that convinces me that it was anything other than a tragic, avoidable accident . Even if the driver was not drunk, he was reckless and driving too fast . Also, had Diana and Dodi been wearing seatbelts they may have survived. If the accident was caused by the secret service, I dont see how they could possibly ensure that Diana would be killed or even badly injured. I don't think we will ever know. I think this inquest, though interesting, will not be conclusive, whatever the outcome. It will be like the Kennedy Assassination and
will run on and on and on.
I feel for her sons, and was shocked that the paparazzi chased William and his girlfriend a couple of nights ago. Ten years on, and nothing has changed. But thats the price that has to be paid for celebrity. I hesitate to call the Royals celebrities, but IMHO that is all they are really.
Forgot to say that i do not believe that Al QAeda had anything to do with it . Unless you can prove that the driver was a muslim and was prepared to die along with Diana and thus become a martyr. And if this was so, then Al Quaeda would be shouting it from the rooftops. You may have just planted a seed, and they could start claiming responsibility to get publicity for their cause.
just an afterthought.....if Diana was so opposed to having her piccie took why werent the windows in the car tinted?

and, of course, we will never no one way or the other how and perhaps more pertinent why she died. There are too many unexplained inconsistencies in the events surrounding this event and so the speculation will go on and on.

by the way Wills, if you hate taking the heat, get out of the kitchen!

naomi, Al Qaeda came under suspicion soon after the event.
DGSE (The French Secret Service) had the Algerian cells under surveillance for many months.
Henri Paul the chauffeur on that fateful night, was a paid DGSE informant, but the son of an Algerian mother.
It is unsure where his loyalties lay.
He probably decided that night, by making the ultimate sacrifice!
If you were going to murder her, is that one of the possible ways you would consider?
speed and no seatbelt, purely and simply
