Did the Old Testament have origins in astrological allegory?
Does the allegorical Jesus story continue to parallel the passage of the seasons of the year?

You are not aware that the opposite position was argued in the early Church and even heretics didn't deny the validity though they did deny the interpretation. Yes, Lent relates to the word 'lenght' and the change in daylight at that time of year, even to the point of using John the Baptist's saying 'He must increase, I must decrease' in the liturgy-- but this is on purpose. It is the one God who made the seasons and redeemed us. What would be odd is if there were no connections between nature and the spiritual beings and messages that Creation embodies.
