I'm Thinking Of Leaving - Seriously.
61 Answers
I think the time has come to make changes in my life, and life itself has thrust upon me certain negatives that need to be addressed.
Therefore, with the backing of my nearest and dearest, I may be leaving.
Should I go or should I stay?

Fouling every topic and abusing every member. No doubt a simple-minded vocabulary challenged individual who gets his 'kicks' from leading a perpetually moronic and insulting existence. There is no place on AB for such offensive characters. The only remedy is to completely ignore his rantings and dismiss all his postings as irrelevant, uninteresting and futile. Is it somewhat concidental that this creature should pop up in an 'animal' thread. Perhaps not. To call him an animal would be disrespectul to animals. Answerbank Editor: Please note. And please act. We are not happy.

To Waldo in particular, but to all generally - thank you for your posts, but the fact is, I'm a scaredypants by nature, and leaving my job, regardless of potential benefits, is moving into the great unknown, turning my back on my comfort zone. I'm not really a risk taker. But, it looks like I will be taking the plunge.
Maybe I start my own ministry! Just work Sundays!
An apprentice to the Village Vicar?

If it's any consolation Theland I'm making some big changes to my life too at the moment and it scares the pants off me (hence the chastity belt... kidding!) but sometimes you have to take in to account your own mental health and well being and you have to change the things you can. We only have one life and the bits you can control you should try to, even if it is a bit on the terrifying side.
That wassnt Gravitate -it was sicko impostering.
I agree with Sir -I was booted off last Saturdat night along with others cos some fool decided they could reort the thread 3 times -what a stooshy it caused cos all the peeps thought thered been bloodshed and there hadnt been-I along with other reported this fool yesterday and he is still on -it beggars belief.

coco pops - Yes, it is time to step out in faith as you say, and believe me, I have prayed over this decision, and been reading particular scriptures to discover Gods' will for this crossroads in my life.
It is all a bit scary. I have had many jobs, but latterly my staying power has been quite good. Eighteen years in this job, seven in my previous one. So I'm getting a bit set in my ways. Time was, when time was on my side, I could saunter in and out of interviews, cocky and confident, knowing I could change jobs at a whim. Not any more. The more experience I have, the more knowledge I've gained, the less I am wanted, at least in my trade as a fully fledged employee.
So, agencies and contractors beckon, here today and gone tomorrow, a throwaway worker in a throwaway society. We are, after all, just numbers, aren't we?
I've been practicing for a possible new career, just watch this :- "Do you want fries with that?"
How did I do?

I have just given up a very secure and cushy very well paid job in central London to relocate to the regions and start something new. I have moved away from family & friends and currently living apart from Mrs O and Mini O and residing in various hotels. I have been since the beginning of January.
I am out of my comfort zone, its not ideal, but it is something I want to do and I am determined to succeed. I am starting afresh for the sole purpose of having a better home life somewhere different. It wont be long now before my wife and child can come up and join me and we are looking forward to bigger and brighter things, hopefully with plenty of work/life balance built in.
Our lives improve only when we take chances. I have taken many chances in my life and this is a greater gamble because it involves more than just me for a change.
My advice would be to take the chances that come your way. Mistakes may happen and sometimes you might feel you fail, but as we all know, the ups and downs make us stronger and braver for the next challenge in life.
