Can you be charged a commission for trading stock without even being informed. I was suggested to change to another stock and received a billfor
$703 commission and was never informed. I wouldn't have done that if I knew the costs. Can a Financial Advisor do this? I know they charge a fee to change directions but a commission for over $700 without informing me doesn't seem right

This is a British site. You write of 'dollars' so, prima facie, you are not in the UK. (Over here the answer would depend on the terms of your agreement with the broker)
