"Damning new evidence that faith schools are siphoning off middle-class pupils can be revealed today, as research shows they are failing to take children from the poorest backgrounds nationwide".

Not very Christian is it, hand picking the economically advantaged. Probably isn't the action that supposedly a devout Muslim or Jewish should follow either.

More evidence of the holy books spouting claims to be the words of a god who supposedly cares for all mankind, when if fact it is literature that exemplifies the corrupt capitalist patriarchy that organised religion is a fundamental part of.

Ruby - it's in the paper but it's not news. This has always happened and probably always will. The world ain't a fair place.
If the teaching of religions was banned in state-funded schools the position might even worsen, as in the USA, with faith schools becoming a network of desirable private schools and state schools being the option of last resort.
surely religion in its totalarity is supposed to be about capturing the essence of giving and sharing selflessly?
Religion, as we know it, is about controlling the masses, and siphoning as much money as possible from the said masses.

Nothing else.
