Look at numbers one and two, surely worshiping her is breaking those two rules from God?

If your teacher's message is so clear, how come there is a direct correlation between the educational achievement and belief in religions, i.e. the better educated one is, the less likely one is to be religious?

Waldo - All the better educated are not less religious. I will not even say they are majority. If you believe in that then it does not mean you are right.

However if I agree with you for the argument sake then it is the same thing as I have said before that we after getting education think we have become clever, but in fact we are not. Still your loved ones so called intellectuals and ultra educated are unable to solve so many mysteries. Galaxies are being discovered one after another and educated ones are looking a bit lost there.

Octavius - We are talking on the assumption that teacher's teachings are right. You might think you have come up with more clever explanation but that might not be the right one. A bit like what I said to Waldo.

Not all religious people are thick and I never suggested they were and am quite happy to state categorically there are plenty of clever religious people.

Nor did I say anything whatsoever about whether clever atheists outnumber clever believers.

Nevertheless, atheism increases as educational attainment rises, and given that one would think that a brainy swot is more able to understand a teeecha than a ficko, it is not what one would expect to see.

Teacher was used just as an example. However one day you might become cleverer than the teacher, but you can never become cleverer than the creator. Few people have thought so and even declared themselves Gods because of their knowledge, wealth or power. But sorry to say that they did not last long. What a shame.

Keyplus, your teacher's lessons are not clear - and that's the problem. If your God had any sense, we would not be having this discussion. We would not be able to find fault.

If I had been around 2000 years ago, I would have liked to have sat down and talked to Mary about her son. I would have liked to have her opinion on what he was like to her. But Mary is dead and gone and she never wrote any books on what Jesus was like to her and so I'm sorry but what she thought about him is lost. Trying to talk to her now smacks of "spiritualism" to me, just as trying to talk to any dead person is a bit spooky. God's messengers are just people who lived on this earth and heard from God himself, and wrote about it, or talked about it. You can read of their accounts of that and maybe take on board some of what they said, but you can't pray to them or talk to them because they are dead and gone. God does not need a medium to talk to us. There are lots of accounts of people who have heard the voice of God directly. God, like modern teachers, uses all kinds of methods of getting the same message across and it's not which method he uses that is the point, it is the message. That's my little thought on the matter.

By the way, Mary may have been a very nice lady, but it doesn't follow that she was any more special than anyone else who gave birth to a genius? Some very average mothers produce some very amazing people. And far from her protecting us - Jesus last words about her was to give protection of her into the hands of one of his disciples, for him to take care of her. If he had meant for her to become this iconic figure, surely he would have presented her to the world as such.

Naomi - My teachers lessons are not clear not only for you. But so many others as well. For them Allah said even to Muhammed (pbuh) "I have not sent you as warden over all these people. I know about all who would not listen to you, and your job was only to convey the message".

On the day of judgment, where I have no doubt about, God says that when I will ask people if they received the message or not. Of course no one would be able to tell a lie. Then He would show all of us what we did in this life. Any way I am sure you have heard all this before so I will not expect you to accept this all any way. Your own opinion and your own choice.
