I heard a radio chat show last week in which a cleric of the C of E described homosexuality as being 'an abomination.' This really annoys me for several reasons. 1) The world has many, many homosexuals, so on the scale of unusuality, it would be seen as a common condition. 2) Homosexuality is not a lifestyle choice, it just is what it is. I could no easier have a gay relationship myself (as a hetro) as a homosexual could have a hetrosexual relationship. It is equally as unimaginable. 3) What business is it of anyone else? 4) Why do people of the cloth always seem to have such closed, bigoted minds?
What do you all think?

Answer my question, Ghetto poet, please..............
ghetto poet, oh dear - you're making a fool of yourself - yet again.
no naomi this is making a fool of yourself http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Society-and-Cul ture/Question602624-5.html typical of your behaviour.

monkeyeyes i hate to disappoint you but im white. if someone said black people are subhuman i would just ignore them.
I'm not in the least bit disappointed, ghetto poet..............but as a person who regular chirrups up at perceived racial slurs, I just wondered how you square that with making offensive remarks about gay people........?
can i just interject for the people who use religion to back up their arguement about homosexuals being sinful....

JUDGE NOT LEST YEE BE JUDGED

(most religions have a similar saying)

quite simple really monkey. i have a lot of friends of different races and hate racism.

i consider homosexuality wrong and my experiance of gay people is that they are mostly sub-human perverts.
Would you be kind enough to explain what distinguishes sub-human pervert gays from non-sub-human pervert gays, GB?
Ghetto thanks for that

Monkeyeyes These are your words,

Yes, procreation (at its simplest) requires a man and a woman..............but the survival of the human race is NOT predicated on the fact that every man/woman/couple needs to reproduce..........

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edna_Parker

look ate her, she is the oldest person living. Had her parents and all the others after them taken youre your advice then she would have been the last person on the face of earth. And for how long?

Waldo I know few people are born with physical inability to be considered male of female. But homosexuality is a life style that few chose. For example if everyone becomes homosexual then consequence in just over 100 years would be the one I said above. About your question, I think I have given you a very well explained answer but most probably it was not what you wanted to hear. Because we are not talking about realizing when you are homosexual or heterosexual. I am sure all the homosexuals were not born with a desire to play leap frog. It is going against the nature. You are a well versed person so I dont think I have to tell you about the health disasters of the homosexuality.

That is my freedom of opinion and speech. Now few people here never liked my opinions and they may never do. But dont worry I am here to stay.
Thanks for clearing that up, ghetto poet.
It's always nice to know that one is dealing with a rounded, well-balanced individual.

I take it you have had lots of interaction with gay people, then ?

Sorry should have been (look at her) and not ate her, trust me I am not cannibal.
keyplus,

what right do you have to dictate how others should live their life?
WOW what an interesting thread.
keyplus Pay attention !!!!

..............but the survival of the human race is NOT predicated on the fact that every man/woman/couple needs to reproduce..........

Gay couples/people exist already and, correct me if I'm wrong, the population of planet earth continues to rise.............

I'm savvy enough to know that homosexuality is inherent not assumed and therefore would realise that to 'advocate' a gay lifestyle is stupid................to anyone but gay people.

You need to understand that it isn't a question of choosing, which you fail magnificently to do, and then perhaps you'll stop posting silly doomsday scenarios where the earth is reduced to single men listening to Judy Garland records..........
Keyplus, I'm sorry to keep banging on, but I think the point is quite important. Again, thanks for the explanation, but it doesn't address the question. I'm not trying to tell you what to think, I just want to understand what you believe.

As it reads at the moment, you seem to be implying that you made a rational choice to be heterosexual. From what you've written, I'm unable to tell if this means that you do have homosexual urges but supress them for the good of society.
keyplus, let's say that natural law dictates that we're here to procreate. Because homosexuality doesn't allow for procreation, it is against nature and that's why it is scorned by the church and the holy book.

Pity - because it's an accident of birth rather than a lifestyle choice. But if that's the rule, fine. Let's go with that.

Now then. Every year hundreds of thousands of people discover that they are infertile. Not through choice, they're just born that way. That means they cannot procreate.

Presumably, they're deserving of scorn too. After all, if everyone was infertile the human race would die out.

This may not sit easily with you - as you seem to believe that homosexuality is a choice. Any chance you could back that up with anything? Or is it just another convenient hunch?
Bah !
I wasnt going to..
I tried so hard not to..
But I can only listen to so much rubbish before I have to step in.
Your ignorance is astounding, Keyplus. But in all honesty it is no more than is to be expected from anyone suffering from religion.
Yes, all the major religions (and ghetto poet, it would seem) have disgust/distaste/disapproval/pity for my life and lifestyle. I did not make a choice. I did not choose to live a life where I can be referred to as subhuman by a person who cannot see how utterly contemptible such a remark is.
I have yet to meet a single person who has chosen to be gay against any other choice on offer. The only way stop people being gay is for straight people to cease procreating.
I was born gay as certainly as I was born with blue eyes..........and I had exactly the same amout of choice in the matter !
jackthehat, ignore the ramblings of idiots and bigots!

religious people who rant against homosexuality and other issuse tend to be hypercritical.

Ghetto Poet, you've accused me of xenophobia - and that is not only unjustified - it's offensive. I have no idea where you managed to conjure this impression from, but the link you've posted confirms nothing of the sort. It seems that what you're actually saying is that if people come from a different culture, then no one should disagree with them - or is it just women who shouldn't disagree with them? Looking at this thread, that would appear to be a more likely scenario - so yes, you are making a fool of yourself. The plank is in your eye - not mine.
Hello Jack - how nice to see you again. (How's your son doing?).

Watch out, Mini. I take it you're a woman!! How dare you disagree?!! They're not hypocritical - they're just like Mary Poppins - practically perfect in every way! :o)
Waldo If you are talking about the Urge then there are so many other things that people have urge for. That does not make them acceptable and right. I will not act upon any of my urge which is not good for society as a whole. At least I never had urge for homosexuality.

Monkeyeyes Had Mr and Mrs monkeyeyes senior decided to be gay or lesbian then you wouldnt have been here.

Quinlad Infertility is a natural disorder or whatever you may call it. Some can be cured some can not be. This life is a test due to these things, (now that will start a new debate).

MiniN Who said to you that I am dictating others about how to live? I am just giving my opinion about what I think is wrong. However from your words if I revert them it seems to me that you are dictating me about how I should live or what I should believe.
