1. C of E ... default religion of the 'undecided' (if you don't know what your religion is, then you must be C of E).
2. Catholicism ... bit continental, fancy rich churches, worship graven images of Christ on the cross, drink blood in church, torture and burn people.
3. Others ... all weird.
There ya go ... Christianity in a nutshell.

Mini, is it possible then to believe in a God but not in a religion?
Yes, I think it is possible - but then you have to ask yourself what your perception of God is. Do you find him in the biblical God or in Allah? If you do, then religion will play a role in your belief. On the other hand you may feel that he - or 'it' - is something quite different and not a 'supernatural being' at all, but is perhaps a force of nature.
Keyplus, you don't seek justice. You seek cruel revenge, as does your God. I don't.
Mohammed is not mentioned in other scriptures. Yes, we have gone over it many times - and, as you well know, we have proven that claim to be false on every occasion. However, since the facts (which are there for all to see) don't tally with your beliefs, you continue to ignore them.

Ok even if I agree with you for the argument sake that Muhammad (pbuh) was not mentioned in any other scriptures and therefore is not a prophet then it is a common sense that how a person who could neither write nor read gathered and only traveled outside Arabia few times gathered all the information and knowledge in The Quran which Well known scientists believe is according to the scientific findings (you believe it or not).
Even if he copied all this from Jews or Christians still its a hell of a job as Christians and Jews still do not know about the things which he talked about.
Here you go another sign for you, forget all on clouds, in the sky or others, but Human hand was created before so Muhammad (pbuh) must have planned Allah (in Arabic) very cleverly as well as it fits very nicely at the back of your hand. And trust me Allah was written like that in Arabic even before Muhammad (pbuh) was born.

I am sure these people know what they are talking about. As they are real people well respected and well known in the world. And they are not pixels like us. They agree with an illiterate person's knowledge 1400 years ago. Even if you say God did not give him this knowledge but he collected it, still he did a very good job within 23 years when people used to travel on camels, horses or on foot, where he collected what many people did not know at that time. And yes they never used to have word processor or laser printer, or USB storage media.
But as I said few people will never understand.

Keyplus i remember this from a while back and just wondered if you had ever answered this.
im sure that you said that in you beliefs it is said their is 10 planets in our solar system when in fact there are 8.
i might be talking out my bum hole but i was just wondering if that is correct.
it just seems odd that your god can't count or can't reme, ber how many planets he made?

Keyplus, can you just clarify this please? You went to a Church run school in Pakistan?
Providing links that praise Islam doesn't convince me any more than anything else does. Apart from that, anyone could provide links that contradict yours, so there's really no point in doing it.
Doesn't it strike you as odd that, apart from Buddha (and he's a different thing entirely) the main players in many major religions are always portrayed as somehow weak? Jesus was born poor and in a stable, and was gentle, meek and mild; Joseph Smith was illiterate and yet he managed to translate the plates, and Mohammed was also illiterate, and yet he managed to get the Koran together. It's all aimed at the sympathy vote, isn't it. What a mind game religion really is.
Incidentally, that can't be a portrayal of a human hand - it only has four fingers.

Mini, no, I don't mind you asking at all. Ask whatever you want to ask. I was once a Christian - until I realised that those who were telling me what to believe had no more information at their disposal than I did. Therefore, in an effort to answer my own questions, I began to study religion - and to think for myself - the results of which told me that all religion is man-made - and consequently is all hogwash. I don't believe in any God, or in the Devil, or in heaven and hell. In fact I don't believe in any aspect of religion, and I think the world would be a better place if it had never been 'invented'.
I do, however, believe that Jesus existed, but that he was not the son of God, he wasn't born of a virgin, he wasn't resurrected, and he wasn't supernatural in any way. I believe he was simply a thinking man, a teacher, who has been thoroughly let down by Christianity (a misnomer since it follows, not the teachings of Christ, but the teachings of St Paul) and I also believe his wisdom has been undermined by what men have made of him - and that's a great pity. I do think there is a spiritual element to the universe, and within man, which rather than being 'supernatural', is entirely natural, and I believe the soul survives death.
Hi Monkeyeyes, yes thanks.

Sherman I do not remember if I said there were 10 planets. However I can not bet on it as I might have said something about the mention of 11 Planets or Stars in Chapter Yousuf (Joseph) in the Quran. Word used is Kokab which few scholars have translated as Planet but few have translated as stars as well. I think planet might be a better translation as there is already a word used Najam for Stars in Quran. But as I said I am not expert on Arabic language so can not argue. As far as Science is concerned we are not sure there either. Sometimes 9 and sometimes 8 planets, so still long way to go I believe.
Naomi why are you sounding so shocked about the mention of church school in Pakistan. May be according to your sources there are no churches in Pakistan. May be media, Trust me if I listen to the media I would not go to my own country.
I think what you are calling weakness in prophets may be is the way God wanted to prove to the world that people who may not be clever or knowledgeable according to the worldly scales but are still better than the others.

Keyplus, Why on earth would you think I'm shocked? I simply wanted to confirm I'd understood that correctly.

You may prefer to believe that, but personally I feel it's par for the course with religion, and is designed to induce sympathy. God would have proven a lot more to the world if he hadn't disappeared hundreds of years ago.

I have no idea what you are asking for monkeeyes. If you look at the link I gave, you have scientists names as well as their qualifications. So why are you asking me, It is written all in English.
Here you go I can give you the link again. If you want me to give ABCD against their names then search it yourself. As far as I know it tells you there very clearly who they are what institutes they belong to and what their achievements are in their field. For example.
Dr. Moore was a former President of the Canadian Association of Anatomists, and of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists. He was honoured by the Canadian Association of Anatomists with the prestigious J.C.B. Grant Award and in 1994 he received the Honoured Member Award of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists "for outstanding contributions to the field of clinical anatomy."
So surely he must have some sort of ABCD against his name to be on all these positions.
Naomi I am sorry if you found me rude in regard to the church school issue as I did not know what you wanted to know about that.

Keyplus, why are you posting links in an effort to prove that the odd western scientist embraces Islam - and more to the point, why do you expect their opinions to influence anyone? Just because they are educated, it doesn't necessarily follow that their beliefs are accurate. I could just as well post links on Richard Dawkins' works, but that wouldn't convince you that he is right, would it, so what's the point?
I watched the documentary by Richard Dawkins on television a couple of nights ago when he interviewed a science teacher who, despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary, firmly believed that the earth is less than 10,000 years old, proving, I think, that the acquisition of academic qualifications doesn't necessarily go hand in hand with common sense.

Thankyou keyplus.
Having read their comments I have this to say;
There were too many 'ifs' in their comments for you to claim that they are in full agreement with the koran. But don't let that stop you..........
Sheikh cAbdul-Majeed A. Zindan seems to focus heavily in these articles............hmmm..............
If a Sheikh approached me to bolster claims given in the koran, he might find me strangely compliant...........
