wrong zacmaster,under uk rules the man and his guide dog should have been permitted inside the building,lets hope that nobody wants to eat in that establishment and the owners and staff will face financial ruin for their heartless and selfish treatment of this man,if they operate a business in the uk then they should adhere to our rules and regulations,not make them up as they go along,if they keep stating that it is against their religion that a dog be allowed inside then im sure there are a lot of vacant shops in islamabad that they could relocate to.....

Shamin Ahmed, a partner in the restaurant, said that he had written to Guide Dogs for the Blind to apologise for the incident.

He said that although the owners of the venue are Muslim, he insisted religion was not a factor in the decision to refuse Mr Elder-Brown.

�We were worried about the hygiene, that is what happened, it was a mistake,� he said.

�I have had a letter from Guide Dogs for the Blind, I have sent a reply apologising about that.... we found out afterwards that guide dogs are allowed, I didn�t know that.�

Now it comes to the personal choice of the owner based on his excuse of hygiene. Although no one can deny that as Dog's hair can go into someone's dish and that is a different trouble altogether for the restaurant people. Other customers may not object openly due to the same kind of back lash but may still not like that. But still when it comes to the law you either abide by it or speak against it on any level you can, but do not break it.

The law regarding guide dogs is to do with new laws about disabled people and has been in force since 1996.
But has nothing to do with hygiene laws or certificates.

So i assume its feasable that he didnt know about it.
