Curious Christian

I am a devout Christian. I believe the Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I don't think I have ever met a true athiest. I am curious as to how you think, what do you believe will happen when you die? Where do you think the beauty that bestows us each and every day with the sunrise to the sunset came from?

Amazing that a relative newbie (not from round these here parts) pops up with a post thats a bit 'out there' and the usual repetitive diatribe ensues.

keyplus's notion of heaven makes it sound a bit annoying, not really like a paradise, more like earth - part 2. I'm wondering, who provides these interest free loans, do they come directly from the big guy himself or some sort of a subsidery agency? Also, if one defaults on their loan could they end up in hell or what?

USALady said that she believed the Bible to be the infallible, inerrant word of God. When it was pointed out to her that it could not possible be infallible because of the absurdities and contradictions, and that, if it was, then her God was a monster, she ran away.

The best thing to do, you say. Well, yes, because she was out-argued - but no, you say, she ran because of the 'baying atheist mob with their torches and pitchforks'.

Really, Octavius. Even for you that is really silly.

Now try meeting argument with argument, fact with fact, reason with reason. You'll find it a wonderful way to start the New Year.

Octavius, No baying mob. Presented with the facts, she was simply unable to qualify her argument. It's pretty silly to expect something as ridiculous as that to go unchallenged.

Oh no - some people expressed contrary opinions and asked someone to justify their point of view on the Internet! It's a braying mob with pitchforks and torches, apparently...

One can imagine films of Frankenstein if all the Doctor had to cope with were some people writing him letters saying, 'I'm not sure you've thought this through, Victor..." or "Would you care to defend your views, Dr F?" or "I really don't agree with you, sir - please consider changing your mind or I shall write again, but in capitals."

Completely identical to how they were when his castle is burned to the ground by a rampaging crowd, isn't it? How could we even tell the difference between these two direct analogues that are completely the same and not different, no sir and that's the truth..? The film would definitely play out in exactly the same way in both scenarios.
