The developing knowledge between science and spirituality is spearheaded by Gregg Braden and I would suggest that your friend might find it useful to read "Walking Between the Worlds -The Science of Compassion" and "The God Code"

One eventually develops an inner knowing though intuition and the imagination that the Kingdom of God is within you. This condition does not come about entirely through reasoned analysis, although that does play an important part. The final leap of faith is beyond material analysis; being entirely of the spirit within. Trying to capture in words and rational argument destroys it through judgement. The letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.

Prayers of praise and love for the Creator and all creation, absolute humility in the fully accepted knowledge that all things work together for good, (not as I will but as thou wilt) and entirely altruistic are the only effective way. Don't attempt to put things "right" because that only drags us down to materialism through judgement and away from spirit.

Prayer for change in the way things are has very little effect. For instance: Group set up to pray for a reduction in crime rate in a city found that drop of about 5 -10% occurred. Same group projecting unconditional loving thoughts directed to all the people of God's creation without judgement of their perceived statuses as "good" or "evil" resulted in an 80% reduction. This is analogous with Friends seeking "that of God in every man".

Hope this may be of some use birdie....

Some would suggest that prayer does not change Reality. It can change the way you interpret the illusion most of us interpret as reality.

Faith is of course belief in the absence of evidence............
Do you have a link to that study about a reduction in crime rate based on prayer.

I'm rather betting it has a few holes in it.

There was quite a good study a few years back on heart patients.

One group were prayed for without their knowledge, one with their knowledge and a control group (bet your crime study doesn't have one of these) not at all.

The ones that were secretly prayed for and not prayed for showed the same recovery.

Those who knew they were prayed for did worse too much pressure I guess.

From a scientific viewpoint it is pure twaddle - He apparently thinks the Earth's rotation reverses and this accounts for the magnetic field reversal

Hi Jake...sorry have not read article so cannot comment but will get you the link from the colleague that gave me the information.

Thank your your your links and look forward to reading them.

My personal interest in the the nature of reality and concept of prayer. I am especially interested in the concept of the 'Manifestation Theory'.

Most of the above came from a colleague I had spoken to about Birdie's interest.
