He did? Who were they? Jog my memory or educate me.
I never doubted it. He and Mary Madgalen had children and there's a secret society dedicated to protecting their bloodline.
I think a chap called Brown wrote about it in a recent best-seller.
Is this why we are called God's children? I'm a descendant of Jesus?
I always thought he was a clean living lad. As far I as I was aware there was no mention of him getting married in the Bible but Mary Magdalen did seem to figure large in his life without explanation.
The bible doesn't tell us whether Jesus was married or whether he had children, so we don't know, although it would have been quite unusual in those days and in that culture for a man of his age to remain unmarried.

A theory exists that the wedding he attended at Cana, when he turned water into wine, may have been his own. When the wine ran out, his mother, Mary, told the servants there to follow Jesus instructions which would have been an odd thing for a guest to do - but who knows?
Hello Naomi x, I am so impressed by your knowledge of the Bible, do you study the Bible everyday? You know so much more than me who is a believer.
because he did'nt exist., watch this from about 14 mins onwards and see how many other worshipped characters have the same things in common as jesus.

Dave.
Dave, in this day and age, and with the help of science and technology, anyone could 'cook-up' anything.
Hi Society (ooo ... I love saying that - it always makes me smile). No, I don't necessarily study the bible itself every day, but I usually read something connected to it (or to the Koran or to various other ancient texts) every day. Religious history is my passion - well one of them. ;o)

x
Yes, they do, Dave - but you have to bear in mind that the authors of the New Testament didn't record history as it happened. In fact they weren't even there when it happened, and their words have been altered time and again over the years, so what we see there isn't as it was originally written.

Imagine for a moment - God comes to earth in a physical body to die horribly on the cross in order to forgive everyone's sins. The most monumental event in the history of mankind - and no one bothered to record his every word and his every move. In fact no one bothered to record any of it until years after the event when they made it fit the pattern they wanted it to fit - hence the filching of bits of legends from the past which had Jesus being born of a virgin and performing miracles - and a good while later, becoming God himself.

I think Jesus existed, but I'm convinced he wasn't who his followers believe he was.
watch the video and see how many characters from different religions have the same story as jesus, lots and lots from egyptian gods...............around long before jesus to other religions.

Dave.
Yes, I know Dave. Lots of virgin births too.
a bit odd then, lots of virgin births, lots of crucifixions, lots of resurections, some long before jesus was born and some after........explain that.

Dave.
As I said, the authors of the New Testament filched information from old myths - just as they had Jesus being born in Bethlehem to fit in with an Old Testament prophecy.
exactly Naomi, OLD MYTHS.

Dave.
Yes, Dave - with a few new ones thrown in. The perfect recipe for a religion. :o)
And this is what everyone seems to be fighting about through the years.
Yes gran. Daft innit?

By the way, I saw somewhere you said you were going to change your avatar. I hope you don't. The one you have is excellent. :o)
was he married? Probably. He was called Rabbi several times in the scripture and thatterm was apprently reserved for married men.
^^True - and according to the Gospel of Philip, Jesus loved Mary Magdalene more than any of the disciples and kissed her often, so it could be that she was his wife.
