Actually although this ruling comes from Al-Azhar, and you can't get much more authoritative than that, this bit made me laugh:

Other matter about giving births only to girls. So according to Islam girl is a blessing of Allah. As for marriage being in trouble then although there are few stupid people around who do care for the gender of the child but they must consider couple of things. First of all medically man is more to blame for his wife giving birth to girls only then even before that they should look at those who do not have any children and be happy that atleast they have some.

You're quite right Keyplus. It is from the hadith, but that's the point you've been arguing, so which piece of your literature it's from is irrelevant. It's what you believe, it's wrong and therefore so are you.

Naomi – At least now you know what is Hadith and what is Quran (I hope). You have problem in agreeing in what goes against your views and proves you wrong (as on the other threads) and then you try diverting attention in your own unique style by posting another thread. As far as I can see there (and I said this on other thread too) Can a woman tell or can a doctor or even scientist tell before 76 weeks (42) days that what a woman has conceived is male or female. No I don’t think so and that is proved by the thread I gave you. And I know very well that You have never ever agree to others, or prove me wrong by giving one thread where you ever agreed with anyone. So I am not worried at all.
