Not only determining gender, but CHOOSING gender. Just so that you will know this isn't a western ploy to discredit the Koran's erroneous claim that Allah determines a baby's gender 42 days after conception, I've chosen something from an Islamic website for you.

http://www.islamonlin...03/28/article03.shtml

If you want further information I suggest you google Lord Professor Robert Winston who is a world-renowned expert on the subject.

Now let us hope we have heard the last of the Koran's mistakes and seen the last of Keith Moore's ridiculous videos.

Actually although this ruling comes from Al-Azhar, and you can't get much more authoritative than that, this bit made me laugh:

“Choosing the gender is allowed (because) there is nothing in the Noble Qur’an or the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to prohibit it.”

- except of course that the Koran states that a baby's sex is determined by Allah 42 days after conception. What a pickle!

It would be a bummer if you went to all the trouble of choosing your baby's gender and then, 42 days into your pregnancy ... Allah changed it !

LOL
-He said that if a woman only gives birth to girls and her marriage is threatened by this she can seek a doctor help in determining the sex of the fetus.-

What noble husbands they must have..!!
lol Jayne...
It would be even worse if you'd painted the bedroom the wrong colour..!
Whereas we all know that the correct action is that if a woman only gives birth to girls and the marriage is threatened by this one should overthrow the Church of Rome, divorce the first wife and then decapitate the second - repeat until dead

Simples
Sometime I do feel sorry for you and now it is happening more often. You are going out of your way to prove Quran wrong but simply do not understand difference between Quran and Hadith. Once again, what a shame.
Keyplus - I read the thread where you said Allah decided after 42 days. Do you really believe that? Even with all the evidence?
ummm, you are talking to someone who has great faith and puts their trust in their beliefs, evidence has nothing to do with it!
Other matter about giving births only to girls. So according to Islam girl is a blessing of Allah. As for marriage being in trouble then although there are few stupid people around who do care for the gender of the child but they must consider couple of things. First of all medically man is more to blame for his wife giving birth to girls only then even before that they should look at those who do not have any children and be happy that atleast they have some.
Scientific evidences usually take U turns.
I thought Allah decided...not man. You're contradicting yourself keyplus.

But it's true. It''s the male sperm that determines the sex of a child. Not the Mother, and not Allah. So if a man doesn't produce sons then it's down to him and him alone..

Don't know why that posted twice..
Here is Hadith (and make a note it is not from Quran),

and here is science,

Make sure you read all with open mind. Although I know it is difficult for you Naomi.
You still have to give me a scientific research that says that Dr Keith Moor’s studies and findings are outdated.
But Keyplus....you said Allah decided at 42 days the sex of a child. You then posted...

You're quite right Keyplus. It is from the hadith, but that's the point you've been arguing, so which piece of your literature it's from is irrelevant. It's what you believe, it's wrong and therefore so are you.

//Prophet’s (PBUH) saying in "Sahih Muslim"; “When 42 nights have passed over the conception , Allah sends an angel to it, who shapes it (into human form) and makes its ears, eyes, skin, muscles and bones. Then he says; ` O Lord, is it male or female?`, and your Lord decides what He wishes and the angel records it.”

Of course according to Naomi (like many others) it is against scientific facts.//

And I'm not going out of my way to prove the Koran wrong. You asked me to provide further proof -

//Give me another research that is latest.//

.... and I have. Indisputable proof - so there is no more to be said. You are wrong - and yet again you have been proven wrong. Give it up Keyplus.

Curtain has not dropped in yet. But not everyone is a pensioner or on benefits and has other things to do in life.

Naomi – At least now you know what is Hadith and what is Quran (I hope). You have problem in agreeing in what goes against your views and proves you wrong (as on the other threads) and then you try diverting attention in your own unique style by posting another thread. As far as I can see there (and I said this on other thread too) Can a woman tell or can a doctor or even scientist tell before 76 weeks (42) days that what a woman has conceived is male or female. No I don’t think so and that is proved by the thread I gave you. And I know very well that You have never ever agree to others, or prove me wrong by giving one thread where you ever agreed with anyone. So I am not worried at all.
