I have just opened an e-mail from an Andre Schults of
[email protected] saying that when I spent £69.95 on my credit card in February 2011 my details were obtained by a fraudulent company which now may use them for illegal means and is under investigation by the authorities.
It tells me to cancel my credit card and obtain a new one for which I can obtain $49.95 compensation.
The credit card number given is unknown to me but could well have been an old card I've since cancelled. I do not recall the transaction.
The worrying thing is, all the other details given, My name, address, telephone number etc. are all corrrect.
It looks like a scam but I'm not sure..............Any ideas?
