"Your call is very important to us; please hold the line..."

A frequent offender, it was 'You have been hacked' when they rang me!
I told the Microsoft man I use Ubuntu he rang off immediately
I had a similar one at 8.30 this morning......03654786
How do these scammers know the phone numbers and that you have a computer?
they often ring my elderly mother who isn't slow to tell them that she hasn't got a ******* computer
They don't need to know you have a computer- just like other phone spammers/scammers don't really know about my (non) accident, my (non) PPI, my pensions, my mortgage, etc
I have a friend who used to treat cold callers by saying please hold I need to finish something & then would walk away & leave their phone bill mounting up & of course when he finally got back to the phone the caller had rung off & he told me that he got great satisfaction from this tactic.
Another favourite is to say this is ***** police station & your call is being recorded

Similarly have a loud whistle near your phone & when you get an unwanted caller blow the whistle hard.
i recorded a 30 min long indian news cast, when i know it from then i put it next to the phone and let play i go back to the phone 15 mins later, there gone of course

Gotta be careful with that one Ron!
