Ebay - Faulty Item
7 Answers
I recently purchased a coffee machine on Ebay. The item was listed as in good working order.
I have used it everyday for 10 days. on 3 occasions when using the milk frother it has tripped my electrics. The problem seems to be intermittent.
I did email the seller to ask for a full refund and refund on postage as it is a faulty item.
He said that he thinks I have changed my mind on the item and no longer want it, so I have made an excuse.
The seller has advised he will give a refund, however will not refund the postage if it is found it is not faulty after he has checked the item. If it is found to have a fault then he will refund me the postage.
I really like this coffee machine and it is now inconvenient for me to return.
Any advice on my reply to him via email. I don't want to come across as being rude.

Don't post back the coffee machine. Once the seller has it back, you have no proof if they say it's not faulty, plus you have no coffee machine and may have to pay further P+P to get it back!
You will also be paying to post it back to the seller, don't forget
EBay's complaints team will tell you what to do. They are experienced in these matters and usually find in favour of the buyer.
