My wife has received a couple of e-mails purportedly from Google saying that someone has her password for google chrome account, both were sent on a Sunday at approximately the same time, is this a scam, we're not worried as we don't use the chrome account
Probably a scam but change your password anyway. Someone could be using your account fraudulently. DO NOT use the email link to change the password. Log in normally, the scam could be to get your password by telling you to log on to a false web site.
It certainly is. The fact that you don't have an account and it didn't mention you by name is a giveaway. Also you don't need a password for Chrome. Don't click on anything- just delete
