Yes, been featured quite a bit on here and on Radio 4 programmes. Definitely ignore- hang up, don't press 1 (I'm not convinced it means you incur a premium rate call but it takes you to the suckers section who then take your bank details or connect to your computer

the call I got was to tell me my Amazon Prime account would be closed unless... As I don't have one, I just hung up. But I can understand people who do have one being worried.

It seems there are scams galore doing the rounds at the moment. I don't know how many people respond to these badly written, poorly laid out emails, with grammatical errors, and terrible punctuation, but I suppose if only one person in a thousand responds it must be worthwhile to the scammers.

I disbelieve all corporate communications unless I know I've signed up to get them, and even then, anything requiring action or money from me is suspicious and I'll phone them (not the number in an email) to check.

No, no more than you would, but many would - the level of English is not that bad, and no worse than many of the comments round here!

I had a phone call saying I owed HMRC hundreds of pounds. Rang the police and HMRC and told both of them.

I love these calls especially the Asian lady telling me my computer needs attention.

I usually ask her to describe her underwear, works a treat.

Must be a bad day for scammers,i got a call today from an asian sounding gentleman telling me £600 was about to be taken out of my account by Western Union and if i had sanctioned this deal,he gave me a number to call to confirm my account details to cancel the deal.I contacted my bank and they told me no deal was going through and the call was a scam.An hour later the same Asian gentleman phoned back and when i told him the police were involved he hung up PDQ.

The guy i talked to was very,very plausible.Trustworthy even.Still a crook.I hate to think what would have happened had an elderly or vulnerable person phoned the number they gave me and gave away their bank details.
