In the last 45 minutes I have had about 450 spam emails land in my personal email inbox.

Various languages - Password Reset requests - Registration requirements - Enquiry thank yous......all sorts.

How on earth do I deal with this?

My address is "[email protected]" if that helps.

Thanks

If the sender has an unusual email domain such as @idiot.cr I block the domain.

Don't do it with legitimate domains though

They seem to be generated by a variety of sources, I am deleting them as soon asthey appear rather than opening any but I am now up to about 600....😭

Oh no! Have you given your email address to some dodgy site?

Question Author

No.

Very careful about where I use it.
If I can't get it sorted out tonight goodness only knows what I am going to wake up to tomorrow. 😢

Yes, it sounds as though your e-mail address has been added to one of the many sellers of such info'.

Prepare to be bombarded. Barry's recommendations will help.

Does your e-mail provider have a spam filter ?

You should have a way of reporting this to talk talk. Probably hidden away in the email settings somewhere. You have possibly been pwned.

Bob your email here

You don't have to "give" your email to a dodgy site. Someone you though you could trust can do that.

Or a company has been hacked, it happens

ooohhhh, bu*ger.....

I have been pwned, it seems.

Thank you for the information, everyone.

Change your email password and ensure that you are not using 1 password for all online accounts.

Ta JTH. Hope you get it sorted. Sometimes a new email address is the only way, but it is a pain having to change all your contact details on sites.

It all seems to have calmed down, today.

I've had a few land in my inbox but nowhere near yesterday's deluge. I think I worked out I have had about 945 - 965 😵

To get that many in a short time suggests they were from one source using a bot. Such a programme can configure hundreds of apparently different web or email addresses to make it look multi sourced and difficult to block. Sometimes the email provider becomes aware of the root source and can block them. The problem is your email is still out there. Talk Talk should be able to help you.
