Scan update!

Hi All!

Further to my post last week about my trans-vaginal scan, I was admitted to hospital on Thursday as my hormone levels weren't rising as quickly as normal. I was told that it was likely to be either ectopic, or that my baby wouldn't survive.

Well, had another scan on Friday, prepared for the worst, and it turns out that as things currently stand not only is my pregnancy not ectopic (which was a massive relief), but I'm actually currently expecting TRIPLETS!!!! I'm only 4-5 weeks gone, so obviously anything could happen, but the doctor said that although he couldn't confirm that everything is OK, he couldn't see any reason why it wouldn't be OK.

Oh wow congratulations!!!!! How exciting! As Doctor has said no reason why it wouldn't be ok so get your feet up and relax! :o)

youd think with triplets that the hormone levels would be increasing faster than a single pregnancy.

Thanks all for your good wishes. Apparently the multiple pregnancies cause weird hormone levels - no idea why! They could see the sacs, not actually foetuses as yet. Another scan next week!

Oh, and VERY bizzarely, the pregnancy was natural and immediate!

If there are 3 seperate sacs, does that mean that they are fraternal rather than identical?

My step-sister had triplets, through IVF treatment, but all the same...she carried them to term and now has 3 beautiful daughters, all different, but all lovely and healthy! :O)

Nooo idea at all I'm afraid. We were in too much shock to ask really! Even the doctor and nurses seemed very suprised about it all.

i think youll ind that the hcg will increase dramatically from about 4.5 weeks.
and your waistband not long after that i suppose :)

I hope the pregnancy goes well for you sunbeam and you don't get too huge and uncomfortable! My biggest fear was a multiple pregnancy,I don't think I could have coped with two or more newborns at once.lol
