My pal was at the game and said it was very one-sided indeed. Had so wanted you to win because, let's face it, I certainly don't want Cliftonville or Glentoran lifting the trophy, so Coleraine were a viable and likeable option.

I'd have settled for Kilmore Rec or Knockbreda winning it, but that was never on at all. Looks like I'll have to cross my fingers for a Portadown v Crusaders final and, without checking the record books, I don't think that has ever happened before?

It was rubbish alright: heard enough about it not to be bothered looking at the highlights. TBH we've been on the slide steadily since the Linfield Sky game in October. We've really only beaten Ballymena since then, but that, while always satisfying, isn't much of an achievement as Ballymena are abysmal.
One interesting sideline to the game: it was rumoured beforehand that Fatboy Slim would be turning up as a spectator, swapping his Brighton and Hoke Albion for the Genuine Blue and White Stripes. But I don't know if he really was there.

BTW a work colleague of mine met an official from Knockbreda on holiday recently. He was gearing up for the biggest game of their history.
There's never been a Crues-Ports final. I did check, but I'd have been surprised: neither side so much as appeared in a final before the 1960s.
What price the Whites to make it after a gap of 42 years?

Can't see it as they're dire, although the Crues could be getting leg weary thanks to their Setanta Cup involvement.

I have flights to Dublin tomorrow for Blues v Shamrock Rovers, but my other half has been vomiting on and off since mid-afternoon yesterday, even bringing up the odd drink of water that she has. No food since lunchtime yesterday either, so it looks like I'm staying at home with her.

Here's hoping to a historical precedent. I failed to make the 1984 European Cup game and we won that on,e but I suspect I am clutching at straws.
