Football Interviews - A Complete Waste Of Time.

Pre-match and post-match interviews are a joke. Managers and players say the same things every week. Why do they bother?

Pity they don't interview chairmen and ask why they think it is always the manager's fault. WBA sacked Steve Clarke when results were not good; since then the team has played 7 and not won any and the new manager is under pressure. Today they are losing again after 2 minutes. Whose fault is that -the manager? I don't think so.

I think you should set out your stall early doors. Raise the bar and take the game to the next level. Put in a good shift, make a good fist of it and most importantly of all justify the managers faith in you!

A joke indeed, we always turn the sound down before and after the match on TV. No need to listen to the same old same old each time, it could be said about every match! Eg need to get more shots on target, come out and attack, get hold of the ball, bla, bla bla!

They will continue to 'bother' as long as the likes of you and I continue to listen/watch. Unlike Maydup, i turn the sound down DURING the match - especially those covered by ITV. The know-all relentless mutterings of Andy Townsend bore me to tears.

One thing that really pisses me off with commentators is when they use the term 'park' instead of pitch, and when they say they've put in a good "shift"

One of the rules of the Premier League is that managers must give postmatch interviews to the media if they request it, so it's the media that persist in wanting them.

The TV & radio folk have laid out so much money to the under achieving prima donnas that they have to try and justify it with attempts to wring information from them.
It gives the illusion of importance to what is really just a game for children.

I've been in the garden but came in to see OH watching a football manager's interview on TV. The guy was asked whether he thought it was a game of two halves today!!

Worst ever post-match interviews were always done by Alex Ferguson.Dull , boring , mumbling , vague , copy/paste cliches.
Yet the media , pundits and public all hung on to his every dull word
