Been home about an hour from Chelsea. Long journey down to Ealing Common, then tube to Sloane Square then bus to Chelsea Hospital. Then a walk of at least half a mile to get to the entrance. The crowds were horrendous. We were in the big pavilion when I heard the thunder, and then the rain started torrential . Everyone charged into the pavilion for shelter, no one could move we had to remain just standing shoulder to shoulder until it all stopped after about half an hour. They were giving out waterproof ponchos so I put mine on as it was still spotting a bit. We found the bandstand area and a group were playing, it was a blast from the past it was The Baron Knights. I used to like them many years ago. So we ate our lunch while listening to them. Only saw less than half of the place as it is huge and I was aching a lot. When we decided to make a move for home I discovered I had lost my glasses. I remembered taking them off to remove the poncho but hadn't got a clue where that was. On the way to the exit I spotted lost property, I went and asked and yes they had been handed in" how lucky was I then?
So we walked, got the bus and then a tube. A chap sitting opposite me was wearing the largest pair of headphones I have ever seen, had a phone in one hand and a ipad in the other. Never looked up once. What a geek I thought.
OH whispered in my ear, do you recognise him? As soon as he said it I realised, it was Matt Dawson the rugby chap of the tv. He was probably keeping his head down so no one would speak to him.
Had a meal on the way home, now just enjoying my rosé . So glad to be home.

What a day!
I did think of you when the hail was hammering down and hope it had dodged Chelsea.

Hope you enjoyed the day inbetween.

We did enjoy it, and some of the gardens and stands were wonderful.
Get a good night's rest flower :-)
Yorkshire won several prizes I believe.
I reckon that you should try to get a contract with your local newspaper, Caran!

Journalists know that 'good news' is usually equivalent to 'no news'. So I'm sure that they'd be delighted to find someone for whom everything always seems to go wrong ;-)

Birmingham won an award but the crowds made it difficult to see what other stands had won. We saw Alan Tichmarchs garden. I was a bit disappointed with it. It was based on from the hills to the beach.

I know Chris we are fated what ever we do, there is always a spot of something.
More water again, Caran ?
You do seem to have the ability to attract water lately, Caran ;-)

Very true Chris, it is absolutely chucking it down again here.
You seem to have got the weather we had here at this time last night, Caran. The rain was hitting the windows so hard that it managed to wake all four kittens up, which really takes some doing! (When they're awake they're manic and it's impossible to calm them down; when they're asleep a bomb wouldn't normally disturb them!). Tonight seems to be calm and mild.

When we got home OH tramped all black marks on hall carpet. The rain had washed the soil out of two box plant tubs by the front door. So carpet cleaner tomorrow.
caran, i think in future you should stay indoors all of the time!
Morning, Caran....I stayed at home all day yesterday....both of us loose at the same time would be a bit too much....
Glad you enjoyed it though.....and wouldn't life be dull without the dramas?....x
