Hi all - having checked with SpareEd, I'm posting this as a continuation of the original thread here -

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Sport/Football/Question1501462.html

This is so that new posts will show in LP & when SpareEd gets a chance, he'll unsticky that thread & sticky this one. I'll post a continuation thread around this date each month & he'll unsticky/sticky again for us.

I've reminded him once again that we're awaiting the arrival of the teams from the Towers... ;-)

Yep indeed!
Anyone else wanting to join it's still open for all new players everyone's welcome, you won't obtain points until the next matchday game so sooner the better.

Good Luck everyone, hope injuries and suspensions treat you kindly this season... especially for myself ;-)

Today was about our lack of ability to not produce the ability we've got.
Sam Allardyce

Just back from an extra training session after a dismal start to the season. Team talks have been had, contracts discussed & due to the presence outside the office of a chopping-block, there has been chatter concerning the rolling of heads.

The more you lose, the more you don't win.
Alex McLeish

The lads are still trying to get their heads around that last bon mot, bless 'em.

Onwards & upwards :-)
Disastrous first weekend. The thing is I did a final tweak, and all the players I took out scored good points, 3 of the ones I put in had -scores. Doh.

Your teams are doing much better than mine. one whack of a football I should've known better. ( broken leg but no worries)

Hi all - a reminder that the first match of Game Week 2 is tonight, should anyone need to make early changes due to injury or suspension - here's that useful link again -

Yep week one and Ramseys out Blimey! So my hand has being forced to bring in Pogba and change my Captain.

I've never played for a draw in my life.
Alex Ferguson
Morning all, must say the site is quicker, and easier to log in than last year.
One change in each team, I could do with a bit of luck today.

Hi all, Yes Togo it is a lot quicker for me as well. I had a good Friday (no pun) with my United players three in one team two in the other all different however yesterday my mid-fielders for both either played crap or were actually benched! Although very early days the top two have a familiar look to them. I have noticed the league table doesn't show goals scored or assists so might be no golden boot award at the end.

You don't win football matches without scoring goals.
Heard on 'Talksport' today, a classic often repeated.
Morning all, I have had a look and decided not to fiddle but am gambling on Willian being fit. Here is the thing though, after having my initial picks beggared up with injuries, Jack Butland being a big one because it shafted my defence, I am now on the injured list. I have done in my Anterior Cruciate Ligament and have had a week of pain and sleepless nights. Would you believe I did it whilst fishing, but luckily I don't need a cast.

Hi Togo, you can't make stuff like that up can you lol. I just about managed to change my Captain before the 12.30 kick-off. No tweaks needed at this end, I just hope the all those players suffering with thEuro jet-leg are fielded today.

Hi - same here, just managed to change a captain, nothing else but hoping for a much better performance from all concerned.

Not to win is guttering
Mark Noble
Good evening everybody.
Looking at the current League table tonight - looks much the same at the top
as last seasons final table.
We must try and stop WORDSLEY BAGGIES and ROBS ROBBERS running away the title yet again.
Good luck to all
Hi all, Having just had a look I can't believe the gap that's already opened up between top and my highest placed in twelfth, this will not do and only three games in.

Afternoon - Arky, tell me about it! 15th & 21st?!? Shome mishtake shurely?

It really doesn't help when my players are sidelined or - it seems like - injure themselves just looking at a football! Muppets, the lot of them so far... Onwards & upwards!

Scoring goals is the hardest thing in football but doing it in a struggling team is double harder
Paul Merson
Good afternoon L-I-K, My teams are in for a stern telling off when they return from International duty, yes most are proven 'Internationals' joke over.

Players win games, but managers give you the impotence to go and do it.
Lee Fowler
It's a marathon not a sprint but so far so good..Boing Boing!
:)
I hope the new transfer window changes come into effect before the next game. I have defence issues which resulted in 2 players being sent out on loan to foreign parts, I was going to have them shot.

Hi all, Well it's back to football this weekend ;-) after the Internationals.
Had to make a few changes to both teams, knowing my luck someones bound to pick up an injury before Saturday. (I won't be able to change them tomorrow/weekend) It is a marathon but a nice little sprint would do me some good. Good Luck all.

We didn't underestimate them. They were just a lot better than we thought.
Bobby Robson

Luckily I can wait until Friday evening to make my changes, gives the injury list more time to update - sigh...

Agreed Arky, a nice sprint would be very welcome!

As mentioned in this OP, I'll be posting the next of these "follow-on" threads tomorrow, with links to the original & to this thread as well. Good luck & (try to) have fun ;-)

Football these days isn't going forwards. It's going sidewards
Bobby Gould
Good afternoon L-I-K, Blimey a month gone already (for this thread). It's still a little early to post the league I'll post it starting from the first week in October after that game week, and monthly thereafter.
When has football ever been fun, fantasy or otherwise ;-)

Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I'm very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that
