Getting Older Do You Find Your Interest
in what you used to enjoy, have changed?
I am 73yrs old now, and lots of things I used to like, enjoy, or be excited about seem to have gone, or not that interested.
For example: I was a massive Man Utd fan, being born & brought up near Old Trafford, and my uncle was Dennis Violet, a Utd & England player.
I never missed a game, and even up to 2 years ago, always watched them if it was on TV, and took a big interest in the premier league.
That interest has gone, and I couldn't even name over two of the players.
Many programmes on tv, & movies, mostly crime, which I would never have missed, dosent worry me anymore, and can soon lose interest when they start.
I have always taken an interest in politics, but now, I just think, whoever runs the country, its not going to make a scrap of difference, but still have my views on immigration.
Instead of reading or watching the news, and believing whats said, I become cynical, and think its exaggerated.
Even a good friend of mine said, he has never met anyone so cynical in his life as me!
When I hear people moaning, about how hard they are done by, or complaining about a certain service, especially the NHS, I will tell them they are lucky to have it, as having worked abroad I have experienced, hospitals from hell, and at least they are alive.
In some ways, age can have its advantages I suppose, as when somebody old complains or shouts off, people say, its ok, hes old.
I have lots more changes to tell, but wont bore you.
I am not lonely, have no money problems, and I am very happy with what I have, so why the sudden change in likes, interest?
Has age changed your way of thinking?
My kids call me grumpy old dad & grandkids, grumpy grandad :-),
