Hi all - here's this month's continuation thread, the previous one is here & that gives a link to the original -

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Sport/Football/Question1565409.html

The International break is over & the 1st kick-off at the weekend is 12:30 on Saturday 9th, which is also when the **free transfer period ends** - don't leave it too late!

They can't change any of their players, but they can change one of their players, and he's the coach

Hi L.I.K. I'm not totally convinced you're pleased for myself and Togo... lol. Apart from the slight mishaps and misfiring of your teams I don't think your points tally are that bad, I've had far worse.

Onwards and upwards as they say...

If you don't believe you can win, there is no point in getting out of bed at the end of the day

Hi everyone, well gameweek 7 is upon us. If Trident Dribblers does half as well this weekend as last then I'll be happy... with the contradictory fixtures for my team (Players playing against themselves) luckily no injuries or suspensions so saving those transfers again.

There no game this evening but Saturday is a 12:30 KO West Ham V Tottenham. Good luck everyone.

I never make predictions, and I never will.

Cheers Arky - I'm not going to look at my teams until the morning, I'll try to kick some sense into them then - I can't do much worse than last week.

^Famous last words... ;-)

I knew that stupid 'é' wouldn't italicise...
lol... I retype the punctuation AB doesn't like hieroglyphs. ;-)

I'm not taking the rise this time, but seems as though you could use some good luck.
Question Author
Oh, I retyped all the punctuation but guessed AB's techs wouldn't have given odd accents a free pass when they threw together the italics bumph :-)
Question Author
I don't know how that happened, I'm sure I typed "...carefully coded..."!
Lol... I had to re-read it though. Agreed!
Lol Lik from now on carefully "coded " is indeed bumph. Bumph of course being code for B.u.M. fluff.
Another week has flown by. After last weekend's heady gains I feel it may all be, a little, after the "Lord Mayor's Show" this time around. Like Arks I have got a weekend where my players are competing against each other, and Captains that cannot all be selected due to mostly playing on the same day. Leaving me with choices whereby a Captain is in danger of losing big points in the Sun & Mon games. Will have to decide tomorrow whether I am better without a Captain rather than chancing losing any gains I may make. Good luck all.

“He’s the only man I know who could start an argument with himself.”
Bobby Robson, on Craig Bellamy.
I'm stuck with the exact same dilemma whether or not to make defenders captain for Sun/Mon.

If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again.

Morning! I've been in & used 2 enforced transfers - without using more, I won't have a captain for either team on Sunday & only one on Monday. Hmmm...

Togo - I agree, those conflicts make my head hurt.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, see you back here on Monday :-)
Well after looking at our league on Saturday and over the past couple of days, its quite obvious that Rob is a Brighton and Hove fan (his team is private), either that or using his transfers too early. good on you Bob.. keep going I almost caught you. ;-)

We must have had 99 per cent of the match. It was the other three per cent that cost us.

A much better weekend for my teams - 91 & 114 points :-)

I'd be doing a lot better if the real managers would only pick the right players from the get-go, instead of leaving them on the bench to use as subs.

I don't set myself targets, but I've a sum in my head that I'm aiming for
James Beattie
You probably have the best 'subs bench' ever L.I.K. 114.. is brilliant mate nothing to be scoffed at there... my highest were 72... actually better than expected. Personally I'm keeping an eye on Mighty, I think he maybe a brummie German ;-)

If you go on the pitch and kick the f00k out of your opponent, then you can'play football and should stick to chess.

Arky demon class Angel. ;-)
*oops... Can't
Not as good as last week for me, but it so could have been. "My" team was playing a team in Blue, and I had the striker that is going well for them in my FF teams. Now you footie fans will understand that I could not possibly have him in my FF teams when he was playing against "us", so rather than feel traitorous I took him out. He scored a hat trick. I was kicking myself all weekend, and Monday, until his replacement scored 2 and partly made up for the foolish but honourable decision. 290 and 263 points for the month. Why do I have this feeling of impending doom? It is not possible to be injury free is it?

“I said to the lads at halftime, I said, there was nothing to say.” Bobby Robson.
I know exactly what you mean Togo I haven't had that decision to make as yet, as Man United haven't played against any of the "Top six big clubs" we have Palace at home this weekend then Liverpool after the international break...(Anfield) and yes I do have a Liverpool player in one of my teams, it'll be a shame if he's injured ;-) Seriously though I wish no ill on any player.

A game is not won until it is lost.
David Pleat.

Done what has to be done early today as I am off for my flu jab before noon. Injuries to sort before I go, and a bit of cooking later. Spare ribs anyone? A good weekend would give me my best month ever for points.

“Practice makes permanent.” Bobby Robson.

No changes this week! Now to hope the captains do their jobs & the points keep rolling in, though unfortunately one of them is playing against my best defence...

The atmosphere here is thick and fast
