Hi everyone! Yes, it's back! With 7 days until kick-off, I've taken the liberty of restarting the Answerbank League at Sky Sports - https:/ /fantas yfootba ll.skys ports.c om/
(This is where I pretty much C & P last year's blurb...)
Hopefully all the regulars will enter a couple of teams & let's hope that a few more fancy having a go this season. Don't worry if you know *nothing* about football but still want to join in - you can use the option to have a team selected at random. The facility to enter a 3rd team in January will also be available.
As last year, we're given £100m to spend & have unlimited transfers until the Match Day deadline on Friday 10th August, then you get 5 per week / 40 for the season. They've kept the "Overhaul" feature, which means that for one week in September & one week in February, *unlimited* transfers will be available, *not* coming out of the 40 per season allowance! This was quite handy last season.
Info on all that ^ & more is here - https:/ /fantas yfootba ll.skys ports.c om/help
The paragraph "Captain Changes" in that link ^ is a "must-read".
When you've picked a team (or two) - yourself, or used automatic selection, name your team(s), then join the League - ours is called "AnswerBank" & the PIN you need to enter is -
8390546
You can then change the visibility of your team(s) between "Public" & "Private", depending on whether you want other Managers to be able to see the details. A note here - just because I'm called the League "Chairman" doesn't mean I'm given special powers. I can't see "Private" teams & I get no other privileges.
The following links can be useful (though as they point out, not necessarily definitive) to check for injuries and suspensions prior to game days -

Ok, I think that's covered everything needed to get the League going & I wish everyone lots of fun & good luck for the forthcoming season! :-))

Not many of the recent transfers are included in the selection options. This is from the channel that likes to be "first" with the news on such matters but cannot be arrised to get them onto it's game site.
"It's a foul in the penalty area. Anywhere else on the pitch and it's a penalty." Rio Ferdinand.

Need to watch out for the September armistice on transfers by the look. A lot of incoming additions to the league are not available as yet. Now that looks marvelous ….. but it is in week 4. I am on jolly hols and "She who must not be obeyed" will take a dim view if I am poring over dream team options and looking for a player in form rather than pretending to be attentive.
Got lucky Arks. Both Goalies keeping clean sheets, defenders in both sides scoring goals, 2 X MoM awards and the "new" imports to the Prem. that I had been looking at, scored for me. If I had got my captain choices right I would have had 20 or so more points for both sides. None of the "expensive" players were worth the money.
none of the cheaper players wear worth their money in my case and tried a more balanced team for one of the this time.
a Long way to go but should have (words of a fool) anticipated the world cup hangover up until the armistice.
However it is good to see the new teams in there, I hadn't looked since Friday dinner time.

The top of the league looks so wrong... what's going on (No shackles on you mate) jesting aside good onya' Togo a very good start.
It truly is great to see the new players having a go but I'm a bit taken aback by X-Ray and BenChloeRyan teams have not entered. Hope they're safe and well whatever has taken them.

Typical. The Togo curse on players has struck after just 1 game. The player that I chose first in both my teams after he did me proud last year is out injured until December. Bad injury that may mean he is perhaps never as mobile again. I have to use a transfer therefor. Now given the price that he was tagged with I have to decide to try a like for like swap or use up the extra dosh to facilitate an upgrade elsewhere meaning at least 2 transfers. Woe is me.

An...interesting...first weekend, I thought. I think much transfer business has or will have taken place before Game Week 2 starts -
Sat - 6 games, 1st kick-off 12:30
Sun - 3 games, 1st kick-off 1:30
Mon - 1 game, evening kick-off, 8:00
I hope everyone remembers to get in & finish any moving about & to make their Captain changes.
Keep having fun & be well, all :-))
I am happy when our fans are happy, when our players are happy and our chairman is on the moon

Hi L.I.K. I'm hoping for a better weekend... the lazy *** how much recuperation time do they need... coming on for the last ten or twenty minutes, or not at all in some cases.
All set up for it even having transferred the injured Kevin De Bruyne (Confirmed for three months by Man City)
Good luck everyone.
As an aside slightly I came across this, (Link) 'Trident' and 'Dribblers' were two different teams but funny to see some players no longer even on AB any more:
