Isn't it utterly disgraceful that Baldric's Kate gets shunted out of hospital well before she's better, yet rich parasites like this creep block a bed with just a bad cold.

What an unfair society we live in.

From the top of the 2nd picture it says BUPA hospital, so seems like no bed blocking, either he or his insurance must be paying.
Question Author
BUPA are known to use NHS beds.
Perhaps you should contact the Doctor/s that admitted him.
Why so bitter, Canary? I believe Morgan pays his taxes. Who are you to say that he didn't need oxygen when medical staff thought he did?
Bronchitis is no joke.
BUPA don’t use NHS beds.....we have on occasion though had to admit a patient from the local ‘Golden Nugget’(our nickname for the nearest private hospital) when a procedure has gone awry.
Private hospitals do not have facilities for extended recovery/emergency care, hence they’re brought to us, but it’s a rare event.
Indeed Canary. And here's another couple of candidates who "bed block" similarly (only for a little longer):

Of the three I'd prefer to see Mr Morgan treated properly (and we don't know that he has "just a bad cold"). I imagine he's paid a fair whack of tax in his time so has contributed sufficiently for his treatment. Not fair of you to conflate Mr Morgan's position with that of Mrs Balders. Totally unnecessary.
Canary....first of all you do not know the facts concerning the medical state of Piers Morgan and one doesn't have nasal intubation of oxygen for "just a bad cold"

Baldric's case is similar and we do not know the whole medical story of her condition or investigations. All we are having is comments and suggestions from uniformed ABers about hospital procedures which bare little fact.
It is a medical decision as to whether a patient should be discharged or not, not on the whim or suggestion of relatives.

Another hospital will not accept a patient from a hospital that has the care of a patient without doctor to doctor liaison.

So in answer to your question and from the facts that we have available to us.......no! it is not disgraceful.
Canary he'll have paid for his care through Private medical insurance, unfortunately BUPA will sub it to NHS if they can't deal with it.Unfortunately the society we live in i.e. Money talks
But I find it hard to knock NHS totally, seems to depend on the Trust and consultant.

"Canary he'll have paid for his care through Private medical insurance, unfortunately BUPA will sub it to NHS if they can't deal with it"

Your private patient has every right to be "subbed" to the NHS as you put it, as that private patient also pays taxes and N.I.........probably more than most.
He posted "I ended up in hospital yesterday and got diagnosed with bronchitis, laryngitis and Sinusitis. Thanks Hilary."

Hardly "a bad cold" and the hospital is owned by Bupa so they're not using a bed that an NHS patient could be using.
I was recently operated on in a bupa hospital and recovered in a private room however I was told that whilst they could deal with emergencies if I went critical I would have to be moved to the nhs
Sorry Squad my terminology was not correct at all was not totally focussed on my answer.
Of course without NI payments there would be no NHS at all, but the system we currently have means the more you earn the more you pay.
Without referring to any particular case or person, NHS will give best care to anyone regardless of however you end up at their front door step, or whether you have paid any NI at all.

Quite.
Quite so - as it should be. But Canary has referred to "rich parasites" which is why I mentioned Morgan paying his taxes.
Maybe canary would like to read the article he has posted about .might be helpful .
It is going to be hard for the OP to pick a BA out of this lot ...

I think Rockrose is in with a slight chance :)
NHS will give the best care....pardon my cynical laughter....yes there is good care within the NHS, there is also dreadful care and filthy wards.
Canary - it appears that your animosity towards Mister Morgan is based on your personal dislike for the media personality he presents to the world.

As has been advised to you, he appears not to have obtained treatment to which he was not entitled, and fortunately, the medial profession does not take personal animosity of perceived personas into account when it offers treatment.

You should be grateful for that - you never know when you might also need their even-handedness in their approach to your circumstances, when you are in need of their care.
Woofgang hope you report it if you see it, I have and will continue to do so, but it's a very rare occasion.
What a disgraceful OP.
