Aye - it's a bit of a mixed blessing.
Tbf, i think many people with a TV live a life. I also don't have normal TV, just netflix and Prime- and I prefer that.
Anything urgent, I see on AB lol.

Not always perfect, but I live a life. I mourn those that are close to me...not those that live a billionaire lifestyle.
Prince Philip meant NOTHING to me or mine.

I thank you.
Imagine what it will be like when the Queen eventually goes......serious gnashing of TV teeth......
Prince Philip has made an enormous contribution to this country. I would suggest you research how he has supported so many good causes. He means a lot to me, as he does to many of us.
Nothing wrong with TV...you just have to be selective.
Our TV is only on when we want to watch a specific programme...and never before 7pm-ish. Many on AB seem to have the TV on permanently - it would do my head in!
It would be awful, dt. I remember when Maggie left and we were at school- several people were in tears as we hadn't known anything different.
The Queen, would be awful.
19:18 Ditto.
Princess Di was bad enough....as a nation. we probably could take on the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. I guess the motto should be 'Become a florist, business is sure to grow.'
I felt nothing when Diana died. The media are still talking about her 20+ years later. One day of media coverage is nothing. Of course it's big news. What did you expect.
I have listening to some music on Radio 2 all afternoon. The television is switched off!
I felt quite sad when I heard the news on the radio earlier, but I’m not interested in the wall to wall coverage of Philip.
I’m just doing what I’d normally do - read a book, do a puzzle, pop into AB. I missed Pointless, but it’ll be on soon.

I remember when Princess Di died (dont we all)?
My partner at the time came to wake me up with the news.
I couldnt give a monkeys and went back sleep.
I just dont get why some privaleged, insulting, and frankly vile, human is given air time upon his death.
His 'gaffes' would have landed him in court if he hadnt have been royalty.
privaleged, insulting, and frankly vile, human

wow.

I'm no great royalist but that seems crazily over the top.

Which part?
I'll survive without my usual TV progs, plenty to do besides.
I’m with nailit on this one. Feted, and lorded, over privileged, very dubious morals. Unfaithful, overindulgence personified. And that’s just a corgi.
I was very sad and upset when Thatcher passed away
don't think I have ever got over it really.
Which part?

the parts that weren't "and"
Nailit, surprised at some of the things you've put about our royal family seeing as you served at her majesty's pleasure.
