Hi everyone, we’re back! With 23 days until first kick-off – Friday August 5th - I've restarted the AnswerBank League at Sky Sports –

https://fantasyfootball.skysports.com/

Hopefully all the regulars will enter a couple of teams each & a few more folk might fancy having a go this season. Don't worry if you know *nothing* about football but still want to join in for fun - you can use the option to have a team selected at random. The facility to enter a 3rd team in January will also be available.

As last year, we're given £100m to spend & have unlimited transfers until the Match Day deadline on Friday 5th August. The number of transfers for the season has been increased by 10 per season - 5 per week / 50 for the season - a very welcome change indeed!

They've kept the "Overhaul" feature, but it appears that there will only be one - "The Overhaul period will begin when the Premier League breaks for the 2022 World Cup and it will run until the Premier League resumes on 26th December." *Unlimited* transfers will be available, *not* coming out of the 50 per season allowance - this is always quite handy, but probably best kept back until as near the resumption of the Premier League as possible, to allow for injuries.

Info on all that ^ & more is here - https://fantasyfootball.skysports.com/help/fantasy

The section "Captain Changes" in that link ^ is a "must-read".

When you've picked a team (or two) yourself, or used automatic selection, name your team(s). From the site - "Team name needs to be 4 to 22 digits long and only consist of or using both letters and numerals" - eg, as I discovered, I can't have a hyphen.

Then join the League - click "Leagues" at the top of the "Home" page, click "Join", ours is called "AnswerBank" & the PIN you need to enter is -

8478433

You can change the visibility of your team(s) between "Public" & "Private", depending on whether or not you want other Managers to be able to see your players. When your team is created, click "My Team" on the "Home" page, click the "Edit" icon next to the team name, click the switch to "Private" & then "Save". You can also edit your team name there.

A note here - just because I'm called the League "Chairman" doesn't mean I'm given special powers. I can't see "Private" teams & I get no other privileges.

The following links can be useful (though as they point out, not necessarily definitive) to check for injuries and suspensions prior to game days -

http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/fantasy-football-injuries/
https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/team-news/

The second link can be useful near to, or on, Game Days, though final updates can be infuriatingly late.

Ok, I think that's covered everything needed to get the League going – I’ll post reminders every now & again, more often as the opening day nears.

I wish everyone lots of fun & good luck for the forthcoming season! :-))

Busy sorting my pre-season accas and thought, why not have a peek at the FF page. A half hour later, 'Neverheardofem' and 'Them's The Breaks' are in the Answerbank FF League:-))

Bumping the OP - we have 19 teams, but there's lots of room left in the League, so if you fancy a go this season, come & join us :-)
Hi Everyone, with the Lionesses doing so well reaching the Euro Final lets hope it'll encourage a few more female players to join, Our last AB League was won by a Lady (2021/22) taking the title from a consecutive title holder.

First game Kick off is next Friday, everyone is welcome as always.
Hi all just a quick bump before I go watch the Lionesses (hopefully) do what the 'Boys' have failed to achieve.

Another bump for the OP - it all starts again on Friday...

Welcome to the League, AB Towers!

Still plenty of time for more AB'ers to join in with the first match of the season on Friday evening. All the info you need is in the OP.
Good to see you in there ladies (AB Team :-)
To the best football managers on AB. We need some more participants, here. Where are you? Let's be having you.

Ta Ken :-)

22 teams in the League now, but still room for more & all the info you need to join in is in the OP.

Game Week 1 starts tomorrow & the schedule looks like this -

Fri 5th - 1 match, kick-off 20:00
Sat 6th - 6 matches, 1st kick-off 12:30
Sun 7th - 3 matches, 1st kick-off 14:00
Question Author
Afternoon all - another reminder that the first kick-off of the new season is at 20:00 this evening.

If you haven't joined the League yet & still want to, now's the time - you can of course join after today, but you'd miss out on any points you might get from your team selections, especially if you have players from Crystal Palace or Arsenal selected (this evening's match).

We have 24 teams now, but there's still room for more. All the info you need to join is in the OP - why not have a go, just for fun?

I'll do my best to keep on top of posting schedules & reminders as the season moves forward. I hope everyone has some fun & I wish you all the best :-)
