I am never sure why people focus on how much players earn, once you reach a certain level the "hygiene" factors are irrelevant, so it's more about achievement, winning things, being involved at a high level - Euros, World Cups etc.

Keanu Reeves got thirty million dollars for two Matrix films, but nobody seems to moan about him being overpaid.

What top footballers get paid for, is to give eighty-thousand-plus fans shots of nerve-pulsing adrenaline once a week for ten months of the year, more with internationals.

I don't wonder that they are paid that much, I just wish I could do it.

I have often wondered why footballers have such daft hairdos these days
Perhaps they are trying to out (hair) do each other in the real competition , for media attention and pundit plaudits
