I have a 2 year old rescue bulldog. All the time he poos in our garden it is firm and easy to dispose of. When out walking him his movements become very loose, is this normal?

The reason for the question is I hate to see dogs mess in public but find it impossible to pick up it this state.
Thanks

Not sure on how common this is, although (sorry to be gross!) if people are anxious they can sometimes be a bit "loose", so perhaps if your dog is getting himself wound up that could be the reason.

On the picking-up point, our dog was ill for quite some time before we could diagnose him as gluten-intolerant, so there were lots and lots of almost watery poos. I ALWAYS pick his mess up, but there was no way THAT was going in a bag! SO i always took a bottle of water out to wash it into the gutter if possible-although not all over the pavement, 'cos I think tht would have defeated the point!!

Good luck :)

exactly the samething happens with our 15 month old dog!!
yes our lab does it too but luckily is isnt too runny amd kitchen roll (and a bag) wipes it up quite well but i will try the water for the last smears. I usually try to find a few leaves out of a hedge botton to cover the smears so people dont get dirty shoes.
