John Barnes New Manager

John Barnes is now the new Tranmere Rovers Boss with Jason McAteer as his assistant. Good move for Tranmere?time will tell. He was a great Player for Liverpool but failed as Manager of Celtic 9 Years ago. What do you Tranmere Fans think ??

I'm not a Tranmere fan but hope that doesn't disqualify me?

Personally I do not rate John Barnes in a managerial capacity.
After all, his only proper venture into club management was at Celtic where he was a total disaster.
I believe that since then he has managed the Jamaican national side but, no disrespect, that's not exactly high profile, is it?
And given the fact that Tranmere came close to the play offs this last season, they're taking a massive gamble by appointing Barnes if they hope to improve on that in the coming season.
Also, does Jason McAteer have any relevant coaching experience? Or are the Tranny Board just hoping to blind their fans with ex player adoration?
I have my doubts that this will somehow be the next footballing "dream team" combination.
