Is anyone beside myself sick and tied of all this hype about murray? a couple or three years ago he said he hated the English and he even wore a Croatia football shirt when England was playing in an important match, so come on lads why should the English support him, he is just another dour scot, know what I mean!
Gavin and Scott Hastings wore Australia tops at the World Cup Final in 2003, so big deal. I would sooner concentrate on his ability. And he has PLENTY of that, unlike Nice but Dim Tim. The media generates the hype, and I, for one (an Englishman) wishes the lad well.
Nothing at all to do with whether or not he is Scottish, British ot whatever....in some peoples opinion, including mine, he is not a likeable guy................you can't please all the people all the time..............!!
grannie39 did you complain like this when Tim Henman was plastered all over the news? We couldn't put the TV on without it being about him, about how wonderful he was and how he was the pride of Britain. What a joke that turned out to be but we still had to see his smug face everywhere.
It's got nothing to do with being Scottish or English it's about a young man who is showing considerable talent in a sport which has not been Britain's strong point for a long time. Surely THAT is what everybody should be concentrating on ffs.
I'm Scots and to be honest couldn't care less if he wins or not, like a number of my friends. However, I think you'll find it is the English media who are overdoing it on the hype. Up here we always expect failure, so if he wins it would be a pleasant surprise to some, but when he loses, which he will, it won't be a nation in mourning. Just another case of - it is the taking part that counts.
ummm,,,he was a fast bowler who played test cricket for England.
He demolished the Ausssies in one of the test matches in Sydney.
He played for Durham.
