Is anyone beside myself sick and tied of all this hype about murray? a couple or three years ago he said he hated the English and he even wore a Croatia football shirt when England was playing in an important match, so come on lads why should the English support him, he is just another dour scot, know what I mean!

Gavin and Scott Hastings wore Australia tops at the World Cup Final in 2003, so big deal. I would sooner concentrate on his ability. And he has PLENTY of that, unlike Nice but Dim Tim. The media generates the hype, and I, for one (an Englishman) wishes the lad well.
Oh shut up grannie!!!!

I love Tennis and is it the sport that counts. And Murray is good at what he does!

So Murray is a dour scot and he is entitled to wear what the
f*ck he likes.

Not everybody likes the English you know.

hmmmm
I like Andy Murray VERY much. He's terrific and I hope he can make it to the final.
Scottish or not.....he's still BRITISH.
Nothing at all to do with whether or not he is Scottish, British ot whatever....in some peoples opinion, including mine, he is not a likeable guy................you can't please all the people all the time..............!!
Nothing quite as exclusive as being ENGLISH though UMMMM.
Careful Logic!!

Most folks on here are ENGLISH!
grannie39 did you complain like this when Tim Henman was plastered all over the news? We couldn't put the TV on without it being about him, about how wonderful he was and how he was the pride of Britain. What a joke that turned out to be but we still had to see his smug face everywhere.

It's got nothing to do with being Scottish or English it's about a young man who is showing considerable talent in a sport which has not been Britain's strong point for a long time. Surely THAT is what everybody should be concentrating on ffs.
I'm not English though logic....you grumpy git :-)
You have my sympathy UMMMMMM.
I'm Scots and to be honest couldn't care less if he wins or not, like a number of my friends. However, I think you'll find it is the English media who are overdoing it on the hype. Up here we always expect failure, so if he wins it would be a pleasant surprise to some, but when he loses, which he will, it won't be a nation in mourning. Just another case of - it is the taking part that counts.
lol....you do make me laugh :-)

I'm happy to be Irish though.....
misnemesis....because he is good at his sport, people don't have to like him.

I didn't like Gazza, Mohammed Ali and Frank Tyson, but they were all good at their sports.
Why do we expect sports people to have personalities like us? They are just human and we're all different.
misnemesis.....difficult to believe, but some people on AB don't like ME!!
Who is Frank Tyson?
why is it the only smalll balls that englishmen can handle welll are their testicles ?

the ewnvy of murray shows them as weak willled limp dicked t0ssspots

talk about penis envy eh ?

but testicle envy ?

get a grip boys

oooooooooooooooh la la la laugh my ass off
ummm,,,he was a fast bowler who played test cricket for England.
He demolished the Ausssies in one of the test matches in Sydney.
He played for Durham.
Cool.....every day is a school day.
