I agree with most of what you have said. The biggest rivalry in the Prem was always going to be intense and if Liverpool had lost yesterday then it would have been a 2 Horse race between yourselves and Chelsea for the Title.
Utd are more consistent than Liverpool and that is why they win crucial games especially against the so called 'lesser' Teams. Utd also have a stronger quality bench than Liverpool as have Chelsea and possibly Arsenal. Could not understand why Benitez did not buy another quality striker in the summer to play alongside Torres or as a sub in a different formation. Too many off the field distractions with the American owners at present, hence the Demo before yesterdays Match.

As a complete neutral on this game I thought for the first time this season Liverpool showed some passion, and deserved the win, the atmosphere also helped, it was intense, the player to me they miss most is alonso, even more than Gerrard, and yes the spaniard can be blown over by a puff of wind, a couple of dubious decisions maybe but Vidic in my opinion is lucky he doesn't get sent off every other week, he is very cynical and very crafty. I do think Chelsea will take it this year though. if I was to support any of the top teams it would be Arsenal the football they play is sublime and how it should be played, maybe next year my team QPR will make a bow for the first time in years in the top flight, I did say Maybe!

Another neutral
Fabulous game and Benitez surprised everyone by playing 2 upfront.
Liverpool took their chances, Man Utd didn't. Minor decisions in the first half went Liverpool's way and in the second half Carragher was lucky not to have been sent off.
Liverpool....Lucas, not up to it Kuyt lacks pace and the team relies on Gerrard and Torres. No chance of the title this year.
ManUtd..Scholes and Carrick both lack pace. Strike attack of Rooney and Berbatov lacks penetration.
Man utd or Chelsea for the title

Hi 10CS
As a neutral....saw the game on MOTD last night and Liverpool played well , Manchester Utd simply did'nt.......no blame on individuals, but players like Giggs just wer'ent on form yesterday.
Vidic does seem scared to bits of Torres's pace and ability, so it was always them chasing the game.
As for Sir Alex blaming the ref...............no comment! but maybe a shout on Carraghers foul on Michael Owen.....straight red?

Panic, Nope it isn't, that is the way that it is. however SAF does give credit when its due and on yesterdays account it was the REF!
Don't get me wrong littlepool were out of the traps faster than United, but they did on all accounts of the game.
You name it they did it!
but as 10ClarionSt points out the battle may have been won but the war is not over.
We move on...
