Rafa Benitez has officially left Liverpool by mutual consent as announced on BBC Radio Merseyside at 1550 pm.
Is it about he went because after 6 Years in the job we are no nearer winning the Premier League than we were the day he walked through the door.
Yes he won the Champions League and the FA Cup but last Season was a giant step backwards.
Thank you Rafa but we need to move on.....

redman...agreed.
A great pity, he was doing such a fine job there I was rather hoping he would stay

Makes no difference though cos Liverpool will never win the Premier League no matter who is the manager
joe.......I don't know about NEVER.....but certainly not with that team.
Sqad, for the forseeable future then
2 man team, take Torres and Gerrard out and they are very average
I for one am sad to see him go.......

Agree with you Squad. Far from good enough at present but there is a brighter future to come and a new direction eventually.

'cos Liverpool will never win the Premier League no matter who is the manager'
Prior to 1977 I heard it said many times 'Liverpool will never win the Champions League'........well what has happened since ?

Well thank you craft ! lol
Any indications on who will take over from him?

Too early to say at present suezy, think it might be a Temporary appointment until Club is eventually sold.
Oh the joys of being a Supporter ! lol
Liverpool were admittedly once the top team in the country but since the Dalglish era its been steadily downhill bar the odd cup win

Their fans should stop trying to live on past glories and realise that they are a poor shadow of their former selves these days
Dalglish is amongst those favoured to take over temporarily.

As long as it is only for a short temporary period.
liverpool were an awesome team in the 80s, but I agree with joe, now is the time to look to the future and stop living in the past
I'm sorry to see him go, but the clueless buffoon has been living on borrowed time for a while. I think the appointment of Dalglish, though, is a further step backwards. Never mind.

Housemate will be ecstatic , She was so desperate for him to go she'd hoped Liverpool wouldn't even qualify for the Europa league so the fans would see the light and ditch the 'in Rafa we trust' thing or wishing for a big lottery win and pay him off herself,
Hope you get a big money buyer, no fun just fighting Man ure all the time

Interesting comments from everyone and I agree that the Team are not good enough to compete with Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal and Man City at present.
We face the biggest upheaval at the Club since Bill Shankly became Manager 50+ Years ago. We have no divine right to win anything as it has to be earned, so the Club will have to appoint the right Manager and sell to the right Buyers.
We will wait and see.....

" first is first, second is not good enough, never mind 4th place being good enough"

What about last seasons 7th?
In all honesty they should think maybe of Phil Thompson, Kopites are fickle and have short memories, you pushed Man U all the way two seasons ago, was it a fluke?
If he was a good manager then, why is he a bad manager now?
One bad season (with typical L'pool luck you still get into europe by default) and he's out, you'll blame the Yanks next.
