I think the only way to succeed with the squad of players at our disposal, is to go 4-3-3, which should be easy if Barry is fit (or Carrick if the manager trusts him) to play the holding midfield role. This will enable Gerrard and Lampard to play their game without getting in each other's way. Also, Rooney will be free to do what he does best up front.
We aren't (in my opinion) good enough to win the World Cup, but this would give us our best chance.
The team I would go for against Algeria would be: Green, Johnson, Carragher, Terry, A.Cole, Barry, Gerrard, Lampard, J.Cole, Lennon, Rooney.
Having said that, though, I'm not paid 6 million quid a year, so what would I know??

I agree with your line-up for our next game against Algeria les, but I would prefer to see Crouch up front with Rooney to start the game.
I think Beckenbauer is looking at the wider picture of not too many English youngsters coming through the Academy system at our major League Clubs. Foreign Players are rife in our Academies these days and that can only hinder the development of many young Players which is a shame.
