Would now be a good time to tell the likes of S.Gerrard, F.Lampard, R.Ferdinand.and ALL other players over a certain age (say 22 or 23 ) that they are no longer needed for the England Team.
That way Fabio Cappello can concentrate on bringing in young players and bond them into a young senior side.
We might have to forgo winning a few European games and a few friendly's but what the hell by 2014 we would then have a "young" side that have played together for the last four years and are still in their early twenties. Then, if I'm still around I will enjoy the next world cup and England might just might. . . . . . . .

even though this sounds tongue in cheek, it makes sense. a young side would be fearless
I think I'd cap it at 24 though as around 27/28 is seen as prime time won't work though.... they will still end up with over inflated egos and won't work as a team
No longer needed after reaching 22/ 23 ?
excuse me, but What The Funicular?
Is there such thing as a English Football Academy? A institution which trains young English football players and loans them out/sell them to clubs?

If this doesn't exist , then maybe it should? Assuming the training was good and clubs were co-operative then this could fund itself.

Just a thought.

Not needed now Akinator ,but by 2014 we will , My suggestion is to pull back the maximum age of an England player by getting 17 to 21 year olds together now. so when the next world cup comes along they will be 21 to 24 years old.
